Born and Bred in Galloway, I love nothing better than working with the land.....then sitting down in the middle of nowhere to paint it..... Also @mochrumbelties
Great still day. Tne Belties winter coat is growing, a Jay crosses the lake and returns a while later, a Curlews call draws my attendtion to a flck of 5 some way off, Redwing call as they go overhead on their journey from Iceland. In the midst of a pandemic all is still good
Great book,
Lovely writing,
Lovely language,
Lovely story,
Lovely vision,
“I started to cut my field in the assumption that the old ways are too slow. Pondering the idea over several hours of noisy labour, I began to wonder if the new ways are too fast.” @GallowayGrouse
@herdyshepherd1 @heatherkaywood ... the red/brown tinge is a desirable trait to have on the belties....Some people sometimes confuse it with a copper deficiency. It’s far preferable to have them with this coat than a jet black and white 😬

I paint where I’m very fortunate to work. Albeit it’s a useful multitasking tool, moreover it’s because I work in an unadulterated landscape which stirs the soul and invigorates my creative side ....x

Brilliant stockwoman caring for one of the world’s most famous historic herds of cattle at Mochrum - and an artist - which all sounds to me like a life well-lived
