“It feels as if the walls are closing in and you cannot catch your breath.”
Yousef Hammash, who is a film-maker and works for the Norwegian Refugee Council, sends his eyewitness report from inside Gaza.
A warning - this film contains extremely distressing images.
A lesson I’ve learned from the Ontario Place fiasco is that we must steward,
use, monitor & celebrate our public spaces with greater vigilance. We must love on public spaces to the point of obsession so corrupt governments & corporations will think twice before coming for them.

“The number of tents and structures across the city has doubled since last year, as shelter closures loom and funding for some housing subsidies has dried up.”

LGBTQ children have the human right not to be outed without their consent. Government and schools must prioritize the right to autonomy and well-being of children, including their right to choose if, when & how they disclose their 2SLGBTQIA identity.
@emilynussbaum ... other slices of perfection:
Bronski Beat's "Smalltown Boy"
Nina. Simone's "Sinnerman" (the claps!!)
"Echo Beach" by Martha & the Muffins
Costello's "I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea"
sooo many by Spoon "Everything Hits at Once"
& an odd outlier "Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins
@emilynussbaum ALSO: David Bowie's Rock n Roll Suicide. When I learned to play this I noticed it doesn't go back or repeat, but keeps pressing on forward (including the bass and the horns) and concludes in a kind of euphoria –– and a totally new chord progression that comes out of nowhere.
