@BronteDavis3 Students can do so much with ICT! I will be incorporating ICT through my entire program so that students can research, make connections and create online! I’d love to see how you will be using ICT in your program design!
@BronteDavis3 Students will love this. Connecting with the community can do so much for the school! I have never heard of this group and will definitely look into them further for my research and future planning. Thanks for sharing!!
@BronteDavis3@seashepherd@SdG14 Have a look at their teaching resources! Sea shepherded are amazing at what they do and are passionate about teaching our young ones to be aware of the ocean and the environment. They have lots of resources on the website!!
@alison_tyrie We have so much control over our students happiness at school. I think it’s super important to make them feel safe and healthy in their school
@alison_tyrie Wowwwww. I have so many thoughts as to how you could get the kids moving at school. Creative arts could include traditional aboriginal dancing with elders, Zumba and a school dance group!!
@Mitchel48981334 Wow!! This really opens up perspective as plastic pollution in our ocean isn’t just a problem for us… it’s everywhere! We need to educate the next generation of global warriors to make a change and improve our biodiversity.
@Mitchel48981334 It’s so devastating how much of our marine life is at risk of fatality due to our communities lack of appropriate disposal!! This picture says 1000 words!!
@Mitchel48981334 We all know how tight funding can be so this would be great to get the community involved to buy resources for the unit or reduce the upfront cost of incursions and excursions for place based learning!! Thanks for sharing this!!
@MaddyCampbell97@SamuelGannon7 Yes! I agree. I am thinking of connecting with a local school in my area to extend my project beyond our school community
Thanks for sharing @SamuelGannon7! CBP’s allow us to learn about our local community building relationships as our school work towards rebuilding our ocean. #SDG14#UoNTeach#CBPS
Sharkey et al. (2016) state that CBPs is valuing local knowledge and resources to create valuable learning. CBPs is great as using an asset-based approach develops students' global competence as they build relationships with the community. What do you think? #EDUC4750#UoNTeach
@aden_corbett2 I recently saw a school using design technologies to design a sustainable school for learning in the future! I felt that I was able to adapt this to my unit life bellow water and could be a great project for yours too!
