Abuse requires an imbalance of power & control, so 'mutual abuse' rarely happens.

Being abused long-term distorts the survivor's behavior so they may look 'crazy' & 'bad', but it's the effects of the abuser.

How the survivor acted while being abused is NOT their real self.

I went into a refuge and the woman running the place said my life sounded like something she’d watch on Netflix.
That didn’t feel good. But I understood why she said it.

Guess what? Last night my abuser and I cuddled in bed, watched tv and giggled together. For a lot of our relationship, it will have good and normal parts. I’m not in constant fear of my life. That’s not how an ipv relationship works.

Very telling to listen to Johnny Depp’s response when the fan gives him the painting. Depp says “I couldn’t have done it without all of you”
And he’s right. He didn’t have truth on his side so he relied on a paid campaign of misinformation via social media.

Victims-survivors who fight back against domestic abusers physically and verbally are victims-survivors in need of compassion, understanding and support.

For so many other crimes, people applaud you if you fight back...

Dr Spiegel, and his family, have had their lives turned upside down since he testified as an expert witness for Amber Heard. I guess this has happened to other witnesses too.

I’m unsettled by people supporting Johnny Depp. It’s scary and depressing to watch supposedly intelligent people reaching desperately to justify themselves. As you are.

@OnePers78377916 I’ve seen him described widely as a phenomenal expert witness. I wouldn’t be put off by him.
And as an aside, most of the people I’ve encountered in my life who have been brilliant bordering on genius have also been “quirky”. That’s not unusual. Not is it off putting.

@OnePers78377916 He had every right as an expert witness to say that. He was speaking to a woman who isn’t a psychiatrist and doesn’t hold any qualifications or credentials in the field.
I’d say that’s his professional right rather than arrogance.
