if you work 40 hrs/ week, you should be able to own a 1 bedroom apartment that's within a five minute walking distance to two good grocery stores, a bar or cafe, and a mexican restaurant that's not just some fast food chain

@drrachelhewitt Thank you for letting me know. I think it’s nuts that this is something you can be reported and fined for, especially if your children are happy and doing well. Then again, I’ve never really supported mandatory attendance to school so.

@drrachelhewitt is very early morning exercise to take advantage of the light. I used to do rowing, which may not be ideal depending on where you are, but running is also great. I’ve also found that classes were a great way to distract. Finally, home improvement (which you already have listed)

@drrachelhewitt I’ve loved reading this. I don’t hate winter (I absolutely love the snow, and I like running in the cold), but I do struggle a lot with the lack of light and it affects my mood. One of the more effective solutions for me (and ymmv especially if you don’t handle the cold well) ->

The story’s about a literature professor. She taught at a small liberal arts college; and specialised in 20th century American literature. Like any fiction nerd, she loved second hand bookshops. She often ran into her students there, and she’d been known to recommend books ->
