More than 3.5 million people have been forced from their homes across the Lake #Chad Basin.
Thatâs more than the population of many countries.
And 8.2 million people now depend on humanitarian assistance just to survive.
This is one of the worldâs most overlooked crises.
Refugee protection is two simple things:
1- thank you for those who welcomed our parents when they needed it
2- insurance policy for our kids to find safety in case they need it
It is just common sense - thatâs refugee protection

On his first #WorldRefugeeDay as High Commissioner, @BarhamSalih is with refugees in Ethiopia, paying tribute to all people forced to flee.
Refugees shouldnât spend decades in limbo. We must invest in solutions that help refugees & host communities build their futures together.
Marking #WorldRefugeeDay at Ura Camp in Ethiopia, High Commissioner @BarhamSalih joined refugees and host community in a moving commemoration.
Ura shows what is possible when protection is matched with inclusion, creating opportunities for refugees and host communities alike.
Of course there had to be a football match. Itâs #WorldCup season, after all! âœïž
Fitness. Football. Music. Dance.
Today, refugees, host communities and humanitarians came together in NâDjamena to celebrate #WorldRefugeeDay and the power of inclusion.
