How do experienced investors think about long-term capital allocation as the global environment continues to evolve? ๐
In a conversation with David Z. Wang, Co-Founder and CEO of Helicap Securities, Jeffrey Jaensubhakij, Advisor and former Group CIO at GIC, shared candid reflections shaped by nearly three decades of experience across asset classes, regions, and market cycles.
The discussion spanned the impact of policy decisions over time, geopolitical shifts and capital flows, AI adoption and questions around long-term economics, and the importance of underwriting quality, disciplined capital deployment, and liquidity alignment in private credit.
These insights were drawn from @Helicapโs recent event, Disciplined Private Credit: An Evening on Global Risk & Resilience โ which we were honoured to have hosted.
To those who joined us, thank you for being part of the evening and for contributing to a meaningful exchange. ๐
For those who could not make it, we are pleased to share the full insights from the session with our broader community.

The planet does not argue. It sends signals ๐
Rising temperatures, extreme weather, water scarcity, and shifting ecosystems are no longer distant warnings. They are operating realities for businesses, investors, and economies.
The question is no longer whether to act. It is how capital gets allocated.
According to @wef, emerging markets need $2.4T in annual climate finance by 2030, including $1T from private international sources.
Emerging Asia is a key region. A May 2026 report by the Centre for Impact Investing and Practices, with Temasek, @invescoindia, and CGIAR Hub for Sustainable Finance (ImpactSF), maps 250+ priority climate adaptation and resilience solutions across the region.
This is where private credit has a targeted role to play.
At @Helicapsg, we see this as part of a larger shift: financing businesses that are building for the long term, supporting sustainable growth, and contributing to more resilient economies across emerging Asia.
That means deploying capital with rigour, through structured financing, disciplined underwriting, and deep market understanding.
This yearโs theme, โNow for Climate,โ reflects what finance practitioners are beginning to recognise: ambition alone does not move capital. Execution does.
How are you seeing capital deployed against climate adaptation challenges in your markets?

The question in private credit is no longer whether sustainability matters. Itโs how to embed it well, measure it credibly, and understand what it means for capital allocation going forward.
On 10 June, Meeta Misra (Chief Sustainability Officer, Helicap Group) and Cheryl Tay (Director, Sales & Partnerships, Helicap Securities), will discuss what the next chapter of impact investing looks like across Emerging Asia, from the USD 5.7T MSME credit gap and maturing ESG standards to institutional capital flows, sustainable bonds, and the role of private credit in financing impact.

At @Helicap, diversification is operationalized through broad exposure across geographies, lending segments, and strategies, underpinned by data-driven analysis and disciplined portfolio monitoring.
That is the standard Helicap strives to uphold.
Diversification is a dynamic process.
Research shows that the relationships between asset classes are complex and shift with market conditions (Tsioutsios, Yarovaya & Dimitriou, 2025), which is why a dynamic, evolving approach to portfolio construction matters.
