I wake up every morning trying to scoop the NYT, not praise it. But wanted to thank so many great reporters — @CAKitchener@amarimow@SherylNYT among them — who I spotted holding signs like this in front of Post headquarters today.
(Maybe the NYT is ok after all.)
As someone who grew up in the exact same micro-demographic as Zohran Mamdani -- the secular, somewhat privileged Indian intelligentsia of NYC -- it's wild to see people typecast him as some sort of Muslim identity politician. It's alien both to his campaign pitch and upbringing.
I loved Sinners so much I watched it twice, and I’m still amazed at the effort Coogler went to to include the Asian American characters Bo and Grace Chow. Thanks @AsAmNews for letting me write about it all! https://t.co/71sBLmNKeR
This is one of the stories that the Pulitzer board recognized, about the death of Hind Rajab:
"Palestinian paramedics said Israel gave them safe passage to save a 6-year-old girl in Gaza. They were all killed."

So proud to be part of the incredible Post team recognized as Pulitzer finalists for our Gaza coverage. In awe of the indefatigable efforts of colleagues, particularly Gaza reporters @HajarHarb84 & @iHaZeMi, who have work through such personal hardship https://t.co/qvzsNmFkDu
So proud of @RubyMellen and the whole Washington Post team for their critical work on Gaza this year. Please read this piece, and the whole package of work, which was just a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. https://t.co/T7zosYXPgX
Are you a researcher/scientist/professor in the United States and are you considering emigrating because of cuts/restrictions on federal research funding? The @washingtonpost would like to hear your story. Please reach out!
We are just about to get started with our #jusmasterclass with @HelierCheung
Helier is the breaking news editor at the Washington Post, based in London. Her past roles at the BBC included editing, but also working as a foreign correspondent in Hong Kong.
“I got death threats when men thought I put a feminist gesture in a video game”
In South Korea it is increasingly dangerous to be a feminist.
Read how young men are attacking women they suspect are feminists and trying to get them fired.

I worked with @raffiberg for years. He’s a brilliant journalist and author, and a great colleague. The attempted poor hit job on him - with such ‘revelations’ that as Mid East online editor he ‘micromanaged’ the Mid East index (his actual job) - is laughable and embarrassing.
Just popping on to say I worked alongside @raffiberg for several yrs including the 2014 Israel Gaza war, where he supported and sponsored my commissions including a trip to Gaza focussing on horrific injuries inflicted on Palestinians. I know him to be fair and a great journalist
Ten years ago Hong Kong saw a political awakening. Now it's in the grip of Beijing that's erasing a decade of protests. But for many HKers the memory of a freer city defiantly lives on. My long read written w @gracehw@vickywong710@joytiunnchen https://t.co/e0Ov34HL2W
We know today’s news is troubling and some of you want to cancel your subscriptions. Please remember the hardworking employees of The Washington Post - our Guild members - had nothing to do with this decision. We are the ones who make The Post and we hope you stick with us.
THREAD:
1. PERSONAL NEWS:
Today BBC News has announced plans to close @BBCHARDtalk after 3 decades holding the world’s politicians and powerbrokers to account. This is sad news for me personally, but much more important, I think it’s depressing news for the BBC🧵
Twelve years ago today, American journalist #AustinTice was abducted in Syria while reporting on the civil war. He has not been seen since.
For twelve years, Austin’s family has not stopped campaigning for his release.
