#Sudan's #civilwar, which began in April 2023, has led to 62,000 deaths and displaced over 14 million people, becoming one of the most severe #humanitarian crises in modern history @SamirApolitical https://t.co/VjtHF6MLHw
Asia has a BILLION children, literally. And all of them are being encouraged by teachers and parents to read more books!
I'm in Singapore at an international meeting of authors who write books for young people.
Up to now, the children's literature industry worldwide has always been dominated by publishers and books from the west. But a western publisher here (at the Asian Children's Content Festival) told me that Chinese publishers now have huge print runs.
Also, while adults around the world have switched from books to screens, the children's sector still prefers real books, thank goodness.
China’s hat king shows the futility of Trump’s trade war. Some countries are vulnerable to market pressures; others less so. #tradewars#onlyonewinner. excellent comment by @CindyXiaodanYu https://t.co/DFxjIgk3Mf
Europeans should expect civil unrest, with the Trump Administration pouring gasoline on the flames, thinks Firas Modad @modadGeoP, speaking in the latest ep, available on the website, Apple, Spotify or wherever you stream your pods, YouTube link here: https://t.co/CpYQlGHcfK
The issue with @amolrajan and @Emmabarnett on @BBCr4today is they are excellent broadcasters but they lack the cutting edge adversarial skills of trained journalists (Think Brian Redhead & Co) https://t.co/yqKiVbSYAD
