Sadly, there are a few hate-filled people in politics. Instead of coming up with logical arguments for why they disagree with us, they resort to vile death threats and abusive comments. No political leader should have to put up with such things. It’s a sign these vile people are losing the argument, but the more important point relates to the safety of our politicians. All deserve to be able to carry out their duties free from threats and intimidation. We’ve seen overseas that all it takes is one unhinged individual for things to turn very nasty indeed.

INTERESTING FACT: Australia was formed with Christian values at its core.

There is no mention of “Judeo-Christian” in parliamentary records until the 35th parliament, where it first appeared as a petition.

It wouldn’t be until after 9/11 occurred, that it was thrust into “mainstream” in 2001 (America) and then 2004 (Australia).

The statement that Australia is a “Judeo-Christian Nation” is manufactured.

That’s not to say that prominent Jewish people weren’t part of Australia’s early years - the fact is, Australia’s foundation and laws were drawn from British Law, Magna Carta and CHRISTIAN practices.

Yet a lot of the same people who nod along to that have zero problem scaring children with a secular version of the exact same thing, climate apocalypse.

We grew up being told the ozone hole, acid rain, and greenhouse effect were going to end life on Earth. Now it’s climate change.
Plants, animals, us, all doomed unless we changed our ways.

It was environmental sin and environmental hell, complete with literal burning. Kids were handed the burden of saving the planet. But what child is equipped to carry that?

The arguments against religious indoctrination didn’t disappear. They just got swapped for a new set of sacred fears. Attack one form of doomsday teaching and another rushes in to fill the vacuum. Same dread, same guilt, same demand for obedience, just with different priests.
