Today’s Case Update of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other BYC leadership

Today, the Anti-Terrorism Court extended the police remand of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, head of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, and her associates for another 20 days. This decision is a blatant violation of fundamental principles of law and justice, raising serious concerns about the independence of Pakistan’s judiciary, which continues to yield to state and military pressure instead of upholding constitutional rights.

Despite the absence of credible evidence, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her colleagues remain unlawfully detained on baseless terrorism charges for peacefully advocating for human rights. The judiciary’s repeated extensions of their remand underscore its complicity in state oppression and the worsening human rights crisis in Balochistan.

We urge the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the global community to intervene immediately and demand the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other detained human rights defenders.

Finally, after 13 days, the internet connection was restored. The city of Gwadar has been under a curfew-like situation since July 27, with cellular and road networks disabled. Scores of people were unlawfully detained, and some forcefully disappeared. As a result of live fire by law enforcement agencies, one protester was killed in Gwadar, and multiple others were injured. During this political gathering, the state unleashed every method of violence to deter peaceful protesters. At this moment, we and the residents of Gwadar were facing a dire situation,
But still, we survived and remained determined to keep going.

Thank you to everyone who has shown concern for our well-being. Long live peaceful resistance.

ہم وفاقی اداروں کی نظر میں شرپسند تھے تخریب کار تھے ہم نے تو ایک گملہ ایک پھول تک نہیں تھوڑا مگر ہمارے ساتھیوں کے سروں کو پھوڑا گیا تشدد کیا گیا۔

اپنے باباسمیت ان تمام گمشدہ افراد جن کے لواحقین اس تحریک کاحصہ تھے انکو بس اتنا کہناچاہتی ہوں کہ ہم ڈٹے رہے نہتے تھے پر لڑتے رہے ہم نے تمام تر ریاستی پروپیگنڈوں کو عوامی عدالت میں بے نقاب کیا ہم مزید لڑیں گے عوامی طاقت کو ساتھ لے کر ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔!
