@thecavemommy The flip side of this is that it's hard for courts to come up with a decent jury. I know someone who recently served, and the jury was composed of mostly retirees. That's not a representation of the entire community. We all need to do our best to show up for jury duty.

I remember way back in the day, she was a regular guest on Oprah. That's how she got her start. She was demonstrating how to make food for a party, and she said that guests could serve themselves. Oprah was appalled that someone would throw a party where guests help themselves to food.
All of the kids who sell at our local farmerβs market are homeschooled, including mine. Customers are impressed by them, and their products are high quality. They are already making mistakes and learning. Most of them have entrepreneurial parents, so they already have the mindset that it can be done. Iβm guessing quite a few of them will go on to own their own businesses as adults.
@speech888 @WallStreetApes You donβt need to make tons of money to not qualify for a subsidy. When I checked a couple of years ago for my family of 5, $150k was the highest income that still resulted in a small subsidy. The system is broken.
@cmnsenselady @WallStreetApes That's what I was thinking. Even with my bottom of the barrel insurance, it would "only" be $8,000. The worst would be a baby born right around the date of plan renewal. I wouldn't want to be hit with two deductibles.
@HEKintheMIX @VladTheInflator I used to live in one of those areas, but I moved away because of housing costs. Thatβs how it works. My tax dollars shouldnβt pay for someone to live in an unaffordable place.

@StrayCatAgain @SydneyLWatson It seems like a complete scam until you need it for something serious. I was always complaining, but my son went through surgery and hospitalization recently. Iβm less vocal about insurance costs now. I got my moneyβs worth, I suppose.
