Yet Sainzโs actions led indirectly to other cars retiring so likely to be justified even though it seems unfair for Ferrari. All this says is that FIA rules are a rabbit warren of complexity ๐ฏ
Some people are saying lap 57 didnโt count however it was an official lap and completed under red flag. The start order was only reverted because we didnโt complete a sector before the red flag was deployed and there needed to be a reference pointโฆ
So with that logic that lap 57 existed you can see why Sainz was awarded a penalty however is there a gap in the rules that when positions are reverted after a standing start fails to complete a sector, then any incidents are to be ignored?
Ferrari should win an appeal here as a penalty for a lap which had the positions reverted shouldnโt be valid. Sainz gained zero advantage and has been unnecessarily punished.

SAT -> Qualifying [for the sprint], Sprint
SUN -> Main Race
Friday qualifying would have Q1, Q2 and Q3... Saturday could be one-shot qualifying.
