It took me 2 years to plan and prepare my relocation to Germany.
I didn't use an agent.
It wasn't luck.
It was intentional planning, consistency, and preparation.
Here's how it happened
@abelekene Malaria remains one of the biggest public health challenges across Africa. It's preventable, treatable, and yet it continues to claim lives every year.
If I could choose one health challenge to solve before 2035, malaria would be high on my list.
@abelekene It was hard not to think about the irony of people seeking treatment in a place where the very insects that transmit one of our deadliest diseases seemed to be thriving.
Imagine an Africa Where:
1. Every community has access to trusted health information.
2. Preventable diseases become increasingly rare.
3. Health workers have the resources they need to thrive.
4. Prevention is embraced as much as treatment.
5. Every child has a fair chance at a healthy life.
6. No mother loses a child because she lacked basic health information.
That's the future worth building.
If you could solve just one health challenge in Africa before 2035, what would it be?
Today my son is ONE.
One year ago, I became Andikan's father. Since then, every day has been a lesson in love, patience, responsibility, and gratitude.
You've given us more smiles than we can count and more memories than we could ever ask for.
Watching you grow has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
Happy 1st Birthday, Andikan. May God guide your steps, protect your future, and make you a blessing to generations.
We love you beyond words.
One skill that changed my career: writing short, clear PR descriptions.
Sounds simple. But most devs write PRs for themselves, not the reviewer.
One paragraph. Context, change, risk. That's it. Started doing that and code reviews got 3x faster.
When the economy shakes, you can tell the difference between a country that plans… and a country that prays.
Canada🇨🇦 just launched a $3.2B national food security strategy to cut grocery bills and reduce dependence on imports.
The plan includes new food hubs, expanded greenhouses, more local processing, stronger competition rules, and direct support for farmers, all aimed at making food cheaper, local, and reliable during tough economic times.
Meanwhile, food prices have risen 31% since 2020, and Ottawa is responding with structural reforms, rebates, and long‑term investments to protect households.
In Canada🇨🇦, when the economy dips, government swings into action: billions for food security, rebates for families, competition crackdowns, farmer support, and national strategies to stabilize prices.
In Naija?🇳🇬 People dey face inflation with vibes and survival mode, while government responses often come late, slow, or wrapped in politics.
No nationwide food hubs, no aggressive price controls, no long‑term plan to shield citizens, just citizens adjusting, hustling, and holding hourly, praying and fasting!
Two countries. Two economic storms. Two completely different ways of protecting their people. Canada builds systems. Nigeria leaves its citizens to build coping mechanisms.
@icekied This is pure wickedness.
I hope the woman can see this post, or someone closer to her. She deserves better. The man may go out and bring back infection
A friend of mine is getting married tomorrow right here in Abuja.
According to him,he told me that he isn't marrying his wife because he really loves her but because she is a good girl and a virgin.
That she doesn't have the kind of body he likes in a woman.
He also said that he knows he won't be loyal to his wife but he just wants to keep her because she is good.
Now he is asking me if what he is saying is making sense.
Please what do I tell him?
16/ If you're currently preparing for your own relocation journey, don't give up.
The email you are waiting for may not come today.
But every skill you build today increases your chances when it finally arrives.
Good luck
It took me 2 years to plan and prepare my relocation to Germany.
I didn't use an agent.
It wasn't luck.
It was intentional planning, consistency, and preparation.
Here's how it happened
15/ My relocation wasn't luck.
It was 2 years of preparation meeting one opportunity.
The opportunity came eventually.
The preparation had already happened.
14/ If you're planning to relocate abroad:
Develop a skill that is in demand
Learn another language
Build your professional network
Research opportunities yourself
Engage with potential employers
13/ Too many people focus only on visas.
The real question is:
"What value do you bring?"
Countries don't just need immigrants.
They need people with skills that solve problems.
12/ Looking back, there are a few lessons I learned:
• Build valuable skills
• Learn a second language
• Be patient
• Stay visible
• Keep preparing, even when nobody is watching
11/ A few weeks later, I got the offer.
The company was willing to sponsor my relocation to Germany.
The opportunity came with great benefits and a clear career path.
But the job offer wasn't the reward.
The preparation was.
10/ Was my German perfect?
No.
But it was good enough to communicate confidently.
More importantly, it showed commitment, discipline, and willingness to adapt.
That made a difference.
9/ The interviewer suggested we conduct the interview in English.
But I asked if we could do it in German instead.
I wanted them to see how serious I had been about improving myself.
