JTBC released the CCTV footage that shows the incident that caused the death of director KimChangMin.

The scene happened on 20 Oct 2025 in Guri. In the video, the perpetrators confronted Director Kim, surrounded him, punched him in the face, and dragged him, continuing the abuse. The incident happened after the director got into an argument over the noise caused by his son, who had autism, while they were eating.

Director Kim was transported to the hospital about 1 hour after the incident and declared brain death. On 7 November, the deceased passed away and had saved 4 lives through organ donation.

During the investigation, the police applied for an arrest warrant for 1 suspect on charges of causing death by injury, but were rejected by the court. They argued that the suspect had fixed residences and was not considered high risk for fleeing. The case has now been referred to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment without detention. The bereaved families have criticised the initial response as inadequate and highlighted the months-long delay in the investigation.
