LIBERDADE para Relebohile Mofokeng. 🔓
🔓🇿🇦
Touch I also think we need a coach/technical team that believes so much in our strength, you always have so much leverage if you play from familiarity, tournaments in general
Ngiyanizwa niyakhuluma. All the Czech guys play in Europe and we fielded 11 players out of 14 who ply they trade in the PSL. With all that physicality and tactical know how, we had twice as many passes as them and clearly dictated the game. All I’m saying is, talent for talent we’ll cook most countries, we just need more exposure at this level for these guys. Tebza bossed the midfield, Mbokazi owned their attack (Only been away from SA for 6 months) just as an example. We can improve, but ay Nani stop making it seem like asilazi. We lack the experience, but possess some level of brilliance, and no I’m not rhyming.
🇨🇿 Czech Republic 1 - 1 South Africa 🇿🇦
I'm not particularly convinced by Czechia's low-to-mid block. It often looks like a mix between a man-oriented and a zonal defensive structure, with different players applying different references. As a result, they can leave too much space in front of the back line.
The introduction of Mofokeng has improved South Africa's attacking dynamics. His ability to receive under pressure, combine and provide creativity between the lines has given the team greater fluidity and threat in possession.
South Africa also continues to struggle defensively when they are forced to defend for longer periods. Whenever Czechia has managed to establish sustained possession, they have looked dangerous and have been able to expose weaknesses in South Africa's defensive organisation.
Czechia has also looked dangerous from set pieces. They have created some good opportunities from the few dead-ball situations they have had, although they have not been able to capitalise on them.
Mofokeng.
South Africa’s biggest talent.
Creative, dynamic, associative, technically gifted. He brings something different to the team.
Someone needs to explain to me why he has only played 45 minutes at this World Cup.
"South Africa has more power players. They didn't score a goal, so they are a little worse off. As soon as they don't do something to us, it will be a dead end for them."
Czech Republic defender Jaroslav Zelený has revealed what they expect from Bafana Bafana ahead of facing them this week.

Despite Spain having 74% possession, Cape Verde committed just ONE foul the entire match.
This is the least amount of fouls committed by a team on record in a World Cup match 🤯
Lamentables: 🇵🇾🇨🇭🇹🇷 🇪🇨 🇹🇳
El peor: 🇿🇦
Van a mejorar: 🇪🇨 🇧🇷 🇹🇷 (y confío en que 🇲🇽)
El ganador del corazón del público: 🇨🇼 💙💛
I know this might sound harsh, but that was genuinely one of the biggest managerial disasterclasses I've ever seen.
This man called up 4 wingers and 3 strikers, only to bench all of them and start the opening World Cup game with a 5-3-2 that he hadn't used even once during the friendlies. He benched all of his forwards and lined up with 5 defenders and 5 midfielders against Sweden.
It gets worse. He played a defensive full-back who is basically a hybrid CB profile like Kounde for example and he played him as a wing-back, used our backup left-back, who arguably didn't even deserve a call-up, as a left centre-back, and after going 2-0 down by halftime, he didn't make a single substitution until the 72nd minute.
And when the changes finally came, they somehow made even less sense.
He brought on a central midfielder to play wing-back, and a left winger to play on the right, and then took off both of his defensive midfielders for an attacking midfielder and a striker. We literally finished the game with a double pivot made up of two number 10s.
I'm serious when I say this is the kind of squad management you wouldn't even see in FIFA Career Mode.
We've faced teams like England, Belgium, France, and Spain at World Cups before. We've always been underdogs. Yet somehow, our biggest defeat in World Cup history came against Sweden.
That alone should tell you everything you need to know about how badly this game was handled.
I know most of you probably don't care about Tunisia's tactical disasters, but I just needed to get this off my chest.
