Tensions erupted on a residential street in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, near Kyiv, where crowds confronted vehicles reportedly connected to a controversial Ukrainian National Guard facility.

Nighttime footage shows people surrounding white vehicles, climbing onto them and filming the confrontation. One vehicle appears to have damaged or obscured windows.

The scenes follow accusations that Ukrainian men were unlawfully held and beaten at the property, which the Azov 1st Corps has acknowledged was used by one of its National Guard units.

FOUR SERVICEMEN REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION.

The controversy intensified after footage emerged of a reported 14-year-old boy at the scene, although claims that he was imprisoned or tortured remain unsubstantiated.

National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko and senior presidential official Kyrylo Budanov attended the earlier confrontation.

Azov commander Denys Prokopenko subsequently accused critics of discrediting Ukrainian soldiers and helping Russia destabilize the country.

Ukrainian police deny allegations of illegal imprisonment and torture.

Des témoignages font état de passages à tabac, de fractures et même d’un décès. Plus glaçant encore : un adolescent de 14 ans a été retrouvé dans les sous-sols, après avoir été violenté selon des témoins.

L’affaire est devenue tellement explosive que Kirill Boudanov, chef du Bureau présidentiel, a dû se déplacer personnellement au milieu de la nuit pour faire face aux manifestants.

Sa réponse, lorsqu’on lui a demandé pourquoi de telles installations existaient aux portes de la capitale ? « Il y a beaucoup de bâtiments comme ça. »

Une phrase qui risque de faire beaucoup de bruit.

Autre point de discorde : Boudanov reconnaît 14 personnes détenues, tandis que des médias locaux évoquent jusqu’à 30 prisonniers.

Pendant ce temps, la hiérarchie d’Azov parle d’un simple centre d’hébergement temporaire et son commandant, Denys Prokopenko, accuse les familles de discréditer l’armée.

Quand les familles réclament des comptes, on leur répond qu’elles font le jeu de la Russie. Quand des accusations de torture éclatent, on invoque l’unité nationale.

Voilà un scandale qui pose une question autrement plus embarrassante : que se passe-t-il réellement derrière les murs de ces centres de détention en Ukraine ?
