The new Dark Horse SC fills the gap between the Dark Horse and GTD. It’s got a supercharged 5.2L V8 with a 7-speed DCT (no manual). Ford hasn’t disclosed horsepower figures yet, but it will land between 500hp in the Dark Horse and 815hp in the GTD, which is quite the gap. A ford spokesperson told us pricing will be the same, between $70K and $300K… For sake of argument, let’s assume the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC makes 650hp and costs $185K. Would it be worth the money? Let us know👇
Close on the heels of its Super Snake reveal, Shelby American has pulled the wraps off its newest Mustang-based creation, the GT350/TA. The track-focused package celebrates 60 years of the GT350 and combines Shelby’s 830-plus-horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 powerplant and many of the aluminum and carbon fiber body panels found on the brand’s standard GT350 with an integrated roll cage, Pro-System Alcon Trans Am Cup brake package, fully adjustable race struts and shocks, and unique wheels. “1966 was a dominant year for Shelby American in motor racing,” said Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American. “Shelby American helped Ford Motor Company win the FIA World Sportscar Championship, largely thanks to the legendary victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, along with SCCA B-production series with the Shelby GT350. Shelby’s efforts were vital in Ford’s overall Trans Am success, as the Mustangs’ points helped it win the first-ever Manufacturers’ Championship. We’re returning to those racing roots with this limited-edition car, which also portends many elements of our future Trans Am spec race car.” The 2026 Shelby GT350/TA uses the improved cooling found on Shelby’s other potent supercharged models, as well as a Shelby Performance hood with carbon fiber heat extractors and a matching carbon fiber front splitter, fender vents, grille, and dive planes. Shelby also gave it additional chassis upgrades, including adjustable toe links and rear subframe stiffeners. Stronger half-shafts and hardened wheel studs were added to keep the extra torque under control. Only 70 examples of the GT350/TA will be built, with final construction taking place in Michigan with help from Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports, an approved Trans Am vehicle builder fabricating race cars for SGT and GT classes. Buyers interested in a GT350/TA must start with a Mustang GT Fastback equipped with a manual transmission and option group 401A. From there, the GT350/TA treatment costs $164,020, for a total of $219,995. Tap the link in bio to learn more. ✒️: Brandan Gillogly () 📸: Shelby American ()

❗️The 2026 Shelby Super Snake has officially arrived to reclaim the muscle car throne, delivering a staggering 830 horsepower that technically outmuscles Ford’s own flagship Mustang GTD.\n\nWhile the GTD is a mid-engine-balanced exotic priced at over $300,000, the Super Snake offers a more traditional, high-octane thrill for roughly half that cost.\n\nBuilt on the S650 Mustang platform, this Shelby masterpiece utilizes a massive 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger to achieve its record-breaking output.\n\nBeyond the raw speed, it features lightweight magnesium wheels, a redesigned carbon fiber cooling system, and a suspension tuned for aggressive street performance.\n\nIt remains one of the few ways to get supercar-level power paired with a classic six-speed manual transmission and a full factory-backed warranty.\n\nBy prioritizing pure American horsepower over the GTD’s complex racing transaxle and active aero, Shelby has created a performance bargain for the ultra-wealthy enthusiast.\n\nThis car serves as a final, roaring salute to the internal combustion engine in an era of increasing electrification.\n\nIf you had to choose between the precision of a track-focused GTD or the raw, supercharged soul of a Super Snake, which driving experience would you value more?\n\nWhat are your thoughts? 🤔💭\n\nFeaturing Media From\nShelby American, Inc.\n\n#ford #mustang #shelby
