Great opportunity to share at the 57th Pennsylvania Counseling Association Conference this year. I experienced a rich collection of clinical wisdom and togetherness time with therapists from around the state. 🥰 loved it!
In this TaiwanPlusTV interview Evon and I give a shout out to young people + AEDP + Wilkes. Together we can inspire trauma-informed culturally-attuned Mental Health care for all.

Trayvon Martin.
He should be turning 30 today.
30.
He should have 3 decades behind him and be planning for more.
My heart goes out to his parents and family.

Trauma brings silence because it feels like there are no words to adequately describe what happened. Trauma brings emotional darkness and isolation because it feels like no one cares and no one could possibly understand.

Sooo much FUN presenting with Chanda to the awesome students about our trip to South Africa 🇿🇦 They were so engaged with great questions and stole my heart ❤️ !!
I invite you to honor my mother, #CorettaScottKing, with me.
Without her, there would be no federal holiday commemorating my father’s birthday.
And @TheKingCenter, which she founded less than three months after Daddy was assassinated, would not exist.
I’m grateful for her commitment to freedom, true peace, justice, and Kingian nonviolence.
I’m inspired by her love for humanity, her faith in God, and her consistency to purpose.
Salute, Mama.

One word at the right time can change a person’s trajectory forever.
A person is born and wishes to become great.
The training for this is long and costly.
To learn forgiveness we experience betrayal. To learn perseverance we become exhausted but carry on regardless of how we feel.
To learn WISDOM, impossible choices are thrust upon us and we make the wrong ones.
To learn timing, we watch great seasons end and hard seasons carry on for too long.
And right before this person chooses to quit, your paths cross. Maybe only for a moment…
You walk by them at a store or see them waiting at the airport. And if you cannot slow down you will miss the moment.
A smile at the right time or a compliment when they didn’t know they needed it can become life or death for their destiny.
We are all born for this.
Don’t let your problem become an obstacle to someone else’s promotion or you will never experience your own 🚀
It’s time to laugh, a lot. And smile at yourself because you made it this far.
Nothing “out there” is capable of stopping you…
So grateful for the privilege training Taiwanese Counselors as part of Taiwan #Multicultural Counseling Association’s series with my talk on “Culturally Attuned #Traumainformed Counseling for Caribbean, African & African American College Students” 🙌🏾🤩
Views | President Claudine Gay’s resignation is a thunderclap echoing from the halls of Harvard, leaving a bitter taste of injustice and a deafening silence from those who should be howling in outrage. (by @ToldsonA) https://t.co/OTEzH0aGS5
