Instead of making the investments to keep ERs open, Ford has now created the largest cabinet in Ontario history. He is selling off our public healthcare. He’s only working for his rich developer friends. Not for Ontarians desperate to access healthcare. #ONpoli
@mindenpaper @ShamjiAdil@fordnation Addition by subtraction is a good way to put it! I'm not sure if those avenues have been looked at. I know lawyers are being consulted. I'll make sure those suggestions are considered! thank you. You do a great job advocating for Minden. Closing your ER was shameful business!
@mindenpaper @ShamjiAdil@fordnation Keep in mind the massive size of Muskoka/Almaguin and the fact the South Muskoka has the largest, fastest growing population, and also the busiest hospital! The change will make Orillia the closest hospital for many in South Muskoka, a pop. that swells to over 100,000 seasonally.
@mindenpaper @ShamjiAdil@fordnation They are reducing South Muskoka to an ambulatory site and centralizing acute care in Huntsville. Huntsville hospital will be doing the work of the Burks Falls hospital, closed years ago, and Bracebridge.
@ShamjiAdil@fordnation Doctors on bracebridge not only see local patients but also surrounding areas. Minden, Haliburton, even orillia. What happens when the hospital gets cut in half? Where will the people go? The population is increasing 10 fold! Not only in summer but all around!
Muskoka’s hospitals are in turmoil due to @fordnation’s ‘something for everybody, not enough for anybody’ mentality.
South Muskoka Hospital shouldn’t be fighting for its inpatient beds and obstetrics program.
This whole thing is wrong.

They already closed the Burks Falls hospital. Now they want to gut Bracebridge.
If they weren't amalgamated they wouldn't be under threat. If hospital boards were still elected they wouldn't be under threat. If we had a better provincial gov't they wouldn't allow this.
The Hunstville hospital dates back to 1895. Bracebridge? 1928.
The idea that two hospitals in two different towns- both of which are full much of the time, sometimes overflowing - is "duplication" is nonsense.

Today, registered nurses and their community allies rallied in Huntsville & Bracebridge to demand Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare CEO Cheryl Harrison return RN positions eliminated last year to baseline staff at @mahchospitals. More nurses means better care for you! #onhealth
Let's show the nurses some love and support! Rally Saturday 12-1 in front of South Muskoka Hospital!
They have been there for us when we needed them the most......let's be there for them.
