UPI MDR ate 94% of our margins.
We earn ₹50 on a ₹10,000 order. From Oct 15, UPI takes ₹47.20 of it.
Pneucons earns 0.5% commission on the order value before tax.
The math:
Customer pays: ₹10,000 + 18% GST = ₹11,800
We earn: 0.5% of ₹10,000 = ₹50
UPI MDR: 0.4% of ₹11,800 = ₹47.20
Left: ₹2.80
That's 94% of our margin gone on every UPI order above ₹2,000.
It's worse because MDR is charged on the GST too: we earn on ₹10,000 but pay MDR on ₹11,800. That costs us an extra ₹7.20.
The ₹8.50 GST on MDR is claimable, but it's paid upfront. That's working capital stuck on every order.
@kushgrwl bhai was confident fintech will bear the cost for the data they get while i was of an opinion they will also add their own mark up on top of it. Turns out we both are wrong.

what drove him?
the entitlement of getting more by scoring less and the haraamkh0ro which is embedded in most from a "particular community", acting as leeches, caught, deleted yourself out of shame and still acting as some victim.
freeloader leeches destroying merit and my country.
I once had an interview with Azeem when I was looking for my first job.
I was young, excited, wanting to become a writer.
East India Comedy used to work from a 3-BHK at the time. Sahil Shah had helped me land the interview.
Azeem looks at my CV and the first thing he tells me is - "I have blocked you on Twitter."
I thought it was a strange way to begin an interview. I had never interacted with him on Twitter. We never had even an exchange or any conversation.
So he opens my profile on his laptop, unblocks me (so he can access the Tweets) and then scrolls down and reads a few tweets till he finds one particular tweet and says - "Ah yes, it was this one."
AIB at that time had made a video where they made jokes on cows / gaumutra in the sketch. I had put out a tweet stating that it was easy for comics to make jokes on Hinduism but I've never seen them take such liberty with other religions / faiths / beliefs. And that they were not equal opportunity offenders.
I was asked to 'explain' this tweet. And so I did. And it led to a discussion and argument for over 10 minutes, where I was repeatedly told I was wrong, after which the interview ended. I had applied to be a 'writer' and I was asked nothing about it - what I had written, what I wanted to write, my skillsets and so no. Nothing.
I was too young to be confident or have strong self belief, and I walked out thinking maybe I shouldn't have put out that tweet - it cost me this job.
What I found strange even back then, was that a person much senior to me in the profession, would be fixated on some tweet, and was not open to another opinion or point-of-view that was different from his.
Surely, it would help to have people with different views writing for a news satire show?
I was naive.
The goal is never diversity of thought or opinion.
The view or angle is always pre-decided. All they need is people to further it.
CCTV CAPTURES SAHIL WAKODE IN EXAM HALL LOOKING AT OBJECT KEPT IN HIS POCKET.
Sources tell @shawansen that CCTV footage has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence in the Crime Branch probe into the death of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode.
Between 12:30 PM and 12:45 PM, with around 15 minutes left for the exam, Sahil was seen bending down and looking at something kept in his pocket.
A professor then questioned Sahil and took him aside, away from the other students.
After leaving the examination hall, Sahil was seen walking across the campus before entering his hostel room at around 1:25 PM.
Sources say he did not leave the room thereafter.
The IIT Bombay professor should seriously consider taking legal action against the parents and the institution if false or baseless cases were filed against him. Enough is enough, weaponizing legal provisions against someone without evidence must have consequences.
If you’re upper-caste + male in this country, the day isn’t far when you’ll have to start wearing body cams (with high quality audio). Absolute banana republic!
