Earlier this week we didn’t have class but I did go to Morril and pick up my paper. The lady at the front desk was really nice. I also got some great feedback from Ms. Sackett about my paper. #comp1213

Today we picked out inquiry questions. It helped to look at the examples in class to help develop my own. This will help me develop a sound thesis and a good paper. #comp1213

I learned how to make my infographic today. It took my a while to learn how to use the webpage but I ended up figuring it out and now it’s easy to use. There a lot of cool things you can do like include images, change fonts, and insert your own creative stuff. #comp1213

Over spring break I went back home to Chicago. I got to see all my friends which was cool, but the most exciting thing I did was go to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with my friends. #comp1213

Yesterday I learned that you can include the word “I” in a academic research paper if you use it minimally. For example you could use it to give your opinion or idea on a topic but you can’t use it too much. #comp1213

In this weeks meeting with Ms. Sackett, I learned a few important things about writing my paper. She helped me fix my errors of using “you” or “I” in order to help my paper become more academic. This is important when writing an academic essay. #com1213

@KaleighMcC1 I found this really interesting. Especially how it relates to psychology. It is important to be able to summarize things properly. I can definitely see how it is a test of our intelligence. #comp1213

In the week of 1/30/18, I learned a lot about word choice. I learned that we all subconsciously choose to read/listen to certain words. So even if we read a whole paper we will remember what we chose to read not all of it. We listen to what we want to hear. #comp1213

In the week of 1/24/18, I thought it was interesting to see how if you use key words in order to search for the correct information, it can help the process go faster. It helps you find things faster and more efficiently. #comp1213

@sythomp It is very important to make sure you keep all your sources documented. If you don’t, you can mistakenly use information from a source without citing it, which would be considered plagiarism. #comp1213

In class today I learned that the title can give you a lot of important information about the article. You can also see if it is a credible source by looking into the author, as well as looking at the url. The url could end in a .com, .edu, or .org. #comp1213
