If you want to know why Pete Hegseth is confident he'll face no consequences for blatant war crimes, just look at the list of people who attended Dick Cheney's funeral.
A striking example of how western media deliberately uses air quotes when it suits to seed doubt in Palestinian narratives, and uncertain verbs (“appears to”) when casting Israel in negative news while adding extra sensational language for Palestinians (“graphic scenes”)
Today, the world’s leading human rights org said the genocide is not over.
Naturally, Western media has completely ignored it, because why would this be newsworthy?
Ta-Nehisi Coates asks Palestinian scholar and writer Tareq Baconi “what is it about this genocide particularly” that has changed us? Baconi, who has written extensively on Hamas and the history of Palestinian resistance, points to three factors. It’s happening in full view of the world, yet still allowed to continue. The gaslighting by governments and major media creates a “dual reality” that denies what people can see for themselves. And at its core, he says, the genocide exposes the colonial foundations of Western power. Baconi stresses that the path between a fascist or decolonial future runs directly through Palestine.

This is a truly moving act of solidarity. All this mom wants is for Gillibrand to explain why she won’t join other senators in demanding Israel stop torturing and release an American teenager.
Gillibrand is beyond lost.
BREAKING: A new UN report finds that Israel’s assault on Gaza - with the destruction of health care, education, infrastructure, even the banking system - has erased 69 years of human development, marking the worst economic collapse ever recorded.
This is not war: it is genocide.
I wrote a book about US media’s complicity in the Gaza genocide. It's available for pre-order. It’s a data-driven and, I hope, thorough account of how center-left media sold the public on mass death in Gaza. Out 4/21. 100% of royalties go to @MECAForPeace

Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and it is time for the United States to officially recognize that and put an end to it.
Co-sponsoring this resolution is the bare minimum.
Interesting to see the Drop Site reports on Epstein ties to foreign policy slowly seeping its way towards mainstream attention. If former Obama staffers can acknowledge it, why can't New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CNN, etc.
Drop Site has been doing incredible reporting documenting Jeffrey Eptein's role as a major geopolitcal actor and weapons broker. To date, with one exception, this reporting has gone completely undiscussed in mainstream media (NY Times, Washington Post, CNN, etc.) The one exception was a passing mention by Majorie Taylor Greene in a hostile interview with CNN.
Republicans have been spewing racist attacks on Mamdani for weeks and it’s almost never covered in MSM. Not only that, the person leading the hate campaign—Randy Fine—is treated by the same media as a good faith expert on “antisemitism”. I wrote about this obscene double standard
@thatbilloakley Dan was one of the funniest - and kindest - writers and an unsung hero on all the shows he worked on - Simpsons, King of the Hill, Mission Hill, Gravity Falls and others. RIP to one of the sweetest, funniest souls we ever had the pleasure to work with and know.
