extremely amusing to watch the orientalist perspective of "china is an evil far off land full of demons and communism" shift into the equally orientalist perspective of "china is a wondrous and kind far off land full of angels and communism" in real time

@irishsaints23 @StreamOnMax you can only replace a prestige tv drama with another prestige tv drama. my vote would be mad men. alternatively, if you’re eager to keep within the white house setting, you could try veep.

i got tasked with making my org’s end-of-year slideshow for the first time and i keep getting the nicest messages about it. who knew that five years of messing around in ppt would lead to this.

[ilayda thornberry @henlo_kitty]

my only real piece of advice to young professionals just starting out is to get really good at powerpoint.

everyone is so nice to you when you’re the one making their presentations look cool. and if no one else can do it, that’s job security.

[ilayda thornberry @henlo_kitty]

im starting to realize how naïve I was for ever believing I’d one day be done with Microsoft PowerPoint

taught myself how to darn clothing so i could mend an old cigarette burn in my husband’s pants, which is a level of lover girl i previously thought impossible to achieve

[Benny Feldman @Feldfrog]

We lost so much knowledge when The Great Library of Alexandria burned down. Libraries should implement controlled burns. They should burn down a different section of the library every year to clear out any older books, so you don’t get a bigger fire

If God didn't want me to use the em dash, why did he enshrine it in nature? In the horizon line—the lightning-harrowed bough—the canyon's pink striation—the pupil of the goat

[ilayda thornberry @henlo_kitty]

@mistresstailor one thing i wish i knew before i started sewing is just how important a (decent) iron is. lowkey more important than having a sewing machine. i have pressed more clothing in the last year than i have in the first 26 years of my life combined
