This afternoon, Working with @CID1_UG , we have arraigned Semakula Yusuf before the Kira Chief Magistrates Court on Charges of Malicious Damage to Property.

It is alleged that between 14th and 28th December 2022, at Buloli Namugongo- Kira division, Wakiso district, the accused maliciously destroyed property belonging to 99 year old Namazzi Helena. He has been remanded until 14/11/2023.

[Anti Corruption Unit - State House Uganda @AntiGraft_SH]

This morning,@AntiGraft_SH Deputy Head, Israel Ochwo delivered a lecture to 332 officers who included; @AntiGraft_SH staff, Presidential Industrial Hubs instructors and some cadres on the adaptation of transparency and accountability in the fight against corruption.

The officers have been on a two-week ideological orientation training at NALI, Kyankwanzi, and are set to be passed out later on today.

In his address, Mr. Ochwo underscored His Excellency the President's message that corruption is the remaining obstacle to our country's social-economic transformation and the industrialisation being the key to such transformation.

He underscored the vital role the officers' relevance to addressing these two vital challenges H.E the President had identified and advised them to maintain their integrity at all times in order to meet this challenge.

He emphasised the need for them to do everything possible at their level to fight corruption rather than think the anti corruption agencies will deal with it alone.

He said they could do this by furthering the anti corruption message to fellow citizens, ensuring the young are brought up with proper morals, reporting cases corruption and following them up to ensure Anti Corruption Agencies act on them.

He further asked them to continue doing everything to ensure that there are systems in the institutions they work for to prevent corruption from occurring.
