Nike didn’t just get hit because Trump hates Vietnam. Nike got hit because it chose to offshore nearly its entire production base to a low-wage country while wrapping itself in American branding.

They made a bet:

“We’ll pay workers $1.50 an hour overseas, slap a swoosh on it, and sell it for $180 to U.S. kids whose parents just lost their factory jobs.”

Now the game’s changed. Trump’s saying:

“If you want access to the U.S. market, build in the U.S.—or pay up.”
