Right ladies and gents, I’ll try and keep this short and sweet.

After a bit of thinking, I’m going to be taking a step back from the account for a while.

Life for me has changed a fair bit recently with heart surgery last year and the birth of my baby daughter.

A lot of my time and attention needs to be elsewhere just now. Of course I will still get to as many games as possible, but it will be nice to go to games without being on my phone during the whole thing 😬

I’ve absolutely loved running the account since taking over from Div at the start of the Covid season.

From the heartbreak of losing out on top 6 against Hamilton, to back to back to back top 6 finishes, to our long overdue European return, to winning the league cup last season under Robbo, it’s been absolute blast and a privilege to cover it all right here with you guys.

The Robinson era is the most successful period of time we’ve had in my 30 years supporting this great club and it was made even better going through it all with you guys on here.

To everyone who’s followed, liked, argued, laughed, met up on away days, bought me a pint, or simply took the time to read my ramblings over the years… thank you. You’ve helped make this account something I could never have imagined, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Twitter (X) is an absolute cesspit of bots, rage bait and AI slop these days, but you lot make this app worth keeping around.

Fear not though, as in the meantime I will leave you in the hands of the OG black and white army himself, Mr @pieandbov while he decides what to do with the account moving forward.

Keep winding up Aberdeen fans, keep being the most raging fanbase in the country, keep telling the old firm to GTF and most importantly, keep the faith.

This is not goodbye, it’s see you later.

Departure confirmed.

What Stephen Robinson achieved with this club should never be understated.

After a sticky start, he built a team that were very, very hard to beat, particularly at home.

Bringing our first top 6 finish in the new Premiership era.

Then did it again.

And again.

Claimed multiple Old Firm scalps, and certain grounds where we previously struggled to win, suddenly became happy hunting grounds.

He brought back European football to Paisley, and those nights against Valur and Brann will never be forgotten.

The SMISA became a place where teams rarely walked away without a battle, and crowds were booming.

But for me, and perhaps most significantly, he gave us a football club who on their day could compete with the very best in the country.

He instilled a belief and a determination in his squad that many of us had never seen before in the black and white of St Mirren Football Club.

He gave us a team, and a community that we could be proud of…

With all that said, I hope we fucking pump Aberdeen every time we play them.

So the question now is, who next?
