The Miss South Africa pageant has a rich history spanning nearly seven decades.
The first official Miss South Africa competition was held in 1956, with Norma Vorster being crowned the country’s first national beauty queen.
Her victory earned her the opportunity to represent South Africa at the Miss World competition in London, marking the beginning of the country’s remarkable journey in international pageantry.
