This tweet right here is what the majority of superintendents have been voicing for weeks & not getting answers. Supers & local decision leaders need this for planning purposes going forward.
Summarizing KDE webcast on delaying in-person classes: Expect full weight of Frankfort if any superintendent/ school board opts not to follow the governor's "recommendation." Will talk first to change minds, but consequences exist, state agencies have authority to order closings.
Is easier than ever to tell your legislators that you support public education funding and oppose HB 205 and SB 118 - Just fill out the form and hit submit! https://t.co/7Mxl1D4JC4
School safety bill was the top legislative priority this session, as it should have been. Seems to me that if the state has 25 million available to spend, it should be on SB 1 components and not private school tax credits. I believe most Kentuckians would support that.
School Safety bill, per legislators was most important bill of short session, bill passed without funding. HB 205 tax credits will decrease general fund revenue. This cost money our state doesn’t have. Is this comprehensive tax reform? Wake up Kentucky!
Not sure how saying KY schools received $0 for professional development and $0 for textbooks and yet the the state has 25 million to spend for tax credits for private school scholarship funds is fear mongering. We are simply advocating for what we need for our kids.
Sad - we cut public schools funds last year in textbooks, professional supplies and tutoring for public school students and now we want to give additional dollars to private schools. @cedmassey@repkoenig@santoro_sal@SenatorSchickel - just wrong.
