@Thats_BB_Suzyn A salary cap is built to ensure an even playing field and maintain competitive balance on the field, not to guarantee high national TV ratings for casuals. The system would actually help teams like the Brewers and Rays keep their superstars which is what builds national interest.
@SportsTalk_304 Fair. Since I'm younger and have graduated High School in the past couple years, I'm more familiar with what's going on behind the scenes than some. What's for sure is communities are being hurt by this and nothing's being done about it. The sport is dying and it can be fixed.
@SportsTalk_304 Southern WV is in a completely different world right now. Down south, it’s not just normal transfers, kids are actively getting recruited, and there are guys getting offered money or perks to move to specific programs. 90 percent of Hoovers starters are transfers. And I’m sure
@SportsTalk_304 Well it deserves to be publicly commented on because it’s not fair to communities where all they have to look forward to is Friday’s. They caught a team in the act who were housing and paying players THOUSANDS and all they gave them was probation and a two game suspension.
I don't think it kills EPAC teams as much for whatever reason. There's not a team over here actively recruiting tons of guys every year like we've seen some programs do the last few years. And if it has hurt them, it's only hurting the same teams that have struggled for years, it's not killing programs that were really good. Tbh the teams that are down right now aren't down because of a lack of talent imo. I think there's so many people moving to the area that most EPAC schools can just replace most of the guys they lose
@SportsTalk_304 Does it not kill some of the EPAC schools as well?? Those schools are tightly condensed to each other just as much as the schools in the tri-state area, especially Charleston. Basketball is for sure very even based off last year. I'm glad there's more Msac-epac matchups early on
@SportsTalk_304 I'm not arguing currently- I'd agree with you on that but when it comes to the past 15 years, the MSAC had serious depth and talent when compared to the current EPAC teams back then. The prior tweet was supposed to be more sarcastic than anything. Basketball wise, is different.
@SportsTalk_304 You’re confusing Martinsburg’s success with the whole EPAC. From the time period you cited, The MSAC has had far more depth and championship contenders year after year. Martinsburg struggled on the road mightily against MSAC teams ESPECIALLY in the playoffs in the 2010’s.
@SportsTalk_304 I know that pretty much every time Martinsburg went South it didn't end well. Historically, the MSAC has had great teams top to bottom overall. I'd take that over a one man show conference. Basketball and Baseball has been dominating EPAC teams who come down as of late .
