I hold a master’s degree in psychology from Denmark’s Aarhus University and am trained as a couples therapist, with a specialty in the treatment of trauma.
I am very proud to announce that my first book in English "Raised in a Bottle - Free yourself from a childhood with alcoholism" is now available on Amazon: https://t.co/4qlbcT4OT7

@adgccki @AndersLadekarl Ja, desværre, og det kan have seriøse konsekvenser for de pårørende, især børn, der vokser op i familier med alkoholmisbrug. Og de konsekvenser følger dem ofte langt ind i voksenlivet.
@theauthorweek Thank you. Yes, the book draws on my 20+ years of experience working with adult children of alcoholics and substance abuse problems. The book is not about sport, training or bodybuilding. It is about learning how to heal & love yourself despite trauma. #adultchildrenofalcoholics
@theauthorweek Thank you very much. I have put a lot of effort into researching & writing the book. It is a book for adult children of alcoholics or of parents with substance abuse. It is not about the gym, fitness, workout or bodybuilding.
@theauthorweek Thank you. I want to be honest. It will help you gain insight into how a childhood w parents who had alcohol problems may have shaped you. It can help you break free of unhealthy relationships. It will not fix everything & it is not about alcohol violence as such. #ACA#trauma
@theauthorweek Yes, exactly. However, it is not about fitness motivation, bodybuilding, training or workouts. At least not physical workouts. It is about growing up in a family with alcohol or other substance abuse and how you can help yourself to overcome the hardships of such a childhood.
@theauthorweek Thank you again. The book is not about appreciating what you have before it is taken away. It is about healing the trauma that comes w growing up in a family with #substance#abuse problems. It is about taking care of yourself as an #adultchildofalcoholics. #HealingTrauma#ACA

Low self-esteem is not part of your personality. You may feel insecure, but remember how much inner strength you have. As an adult you have the ability to re-build your sense of self-esteem.

Growing up with addiction often creates low self-esteem in children. It is NOT your fault. And you are not alone. We develop our self-esteem through our relationships with others, especially our parents and those closest to us.
Raised in a Bottle is now top of the category Adult Children of Alcoholics on Amazon. I am so proud & sincerely hope that readers will gain insight, awareness & comfort from the book. https://t.co/4qlbcT4OT7 #adultchildrenofalcoholics#raisedinabottle#youarenotalone#alcoholism

You no longer have to accept the darkness and the downsides as part of your life story. Write out your pain and past trauma. Practice seeing yourself as independent of these episodes. They happened to you, but they are not you. #tellanewstory#adultchildrenofalcoholics
