@JoeLuckyman209@PenseesofPascal It's not any and all average/meager people, it's specifically those who are envious of the heroes and want to tear them down. The villain is resentful towards heroes for being better than him so he tries to get rid of them
@JoeLuckyman209@PenseesofPascal Yeah the heroes help average, innocent people, that's what they do. The old lady was not the antagonizing force in that scene, it was the sniveling boss who was stopping him from helping people because it went against the interests of the managerial class
@JoeLuckyman209@PenseesofPascal Plus the scene where the main protagonist says something to the effect of "they keep coming up with new ways to celebrate mediocrity, but when someone is truly exceptional they get held back."
@JoeLuckyman209@PenseesofPascal Yeah that is kinda what I got out of the movie where heroism is outlawed by bureaucracy and the people with superpowers are attacked by the petty and envious villain who wants to give everyone fake powers because "when everyone's super, no one is."
Correctly understood, "all men are created equal" does not mean that all living humans are identical blank slates at birth (which objectively isn't true), but rather that no matter how high or low we are in life we are all equally judged by God and equally in need of divine grace
The statement "all men are created equal" is kinda by default interpreted today as an empowering statement in favor of egalitarianism and blank-slatism, but I believe it's meant to be a more humbling statement, referring to our spiritual condition rather than our earthly one. 1/2
@11975MHz Idk what it is with Yellowstone but for some reason every other foreign tourist that goes there seems to get their IQ halved the moment they enter. I remember a story of a family taking a buffalo calf and bringing it in their car because they thought it was cold, and it died.
