Time and time again, it never fails. Coaches look past young pitchers because they don’t throw the hardest, even though the have pitchability. Low and behold when the game is on the line, that young arm is needed and proves it’s worthy. Give me strike throwers all day.
Baserunners:
You DO NOT have to steal if you DO NOT get a good jump (on a straight steal).
Shut it down and establish your secondary lead as the pitch is on its way to the plate.
Baserunning decisions...
“Do I stay or go”:
-what’s the score
-what’s the inning
-how many outs
-who’s up now
-who’s up next
-how’s the pitcher throwing
Depending on the game’s always changing variables, the same exact baserunning play can be a great one or a terrible one.
