It's pretty amazing how both the Spanish far-right and the far-left blame Zionism (?!) for what happened in Melilla and Ceuta.

Zionism is simply the idea of Jews living in their indigenous homeland - the Land of Israel, but it has become a euphemism for blaming Jews for everything you don't like.

This is, of course, an ancient Spanish tradition. My family experienced it first hand.

The obsession against Jews and Israel in Spain has gotten completely out of control.

Claiming Israel trains dogs to rape Palestinians is modern day blood libel — propaganda pushed as more horrific details emerge about Hamas’ systematic torture on Oct. 7.

For being Jewish — Hamas raped a woman and burnt half of her face off in front of her husband; shoved nails, metal, and sharp objects into Israeli women; forced family members to sexually assault each other so that if they survived they would be traumatized by the sight of each other; raped corpses; the list goes on.

Distracting from these atrocities and smearing Israel while victims still fight for acknowledgment is sickening.

Eyal Waldman is a decent and honorable man whom I have gotten to know closely since October 7, and was one of the first Israelis to reach out to me online once I had grown a presence following the tragedy of my family’s killing in Gaza by Israeli airstrikes. Despite losing his daughter to Hamas’s heinous massacre on October 7, he has been relentlessly pursuing radically pragmatic initiatives, and we have both been in multiple spaces, conferences, events, and arenas to discuss ways in which Palestinians and Israelis can both have safety, security, self-determination, and freedom. He not only supports peace and the inevitable need to establish a Palestinian self-rule because it is the moral thing to do, but he also recognizes it is imperative for protecting Israel’s long-term interests and needs as a Jewish and democratic state.

The blind hatred by the so-called “pro-Palestine” activists against Eyal here is typical behavior of brownshirt-esque militias who simply hear someone’s identity and react blindly despite his goodwill gesture and outreach. The “pro-Palestine” mafia fails to appreciate that there will never be a free or independent Palestine without making alliances with broad segments in Israel, including in government, civil society, business, and faith communities. You don’t have to agree with everything Eyal says or believes to acknowledge that he is a decent, honorable, and a class-A human being, the embodiment of pursuing peace and reconciliation across entrenched narratives and deep personal trauma.

יוצאים לדרך שוב במסע בבית הקברות בנחלת יצחק!
יהושע שצוב נולד ברוסיה, עלה לארץ לתל אביב הצעירה, שם שימש חבר מועצת העיר ופעל רבות לקידום הבנקאות ביישוב הישן. היה מעורב ברכישת קרקעות ובביסוס ההתיישבות החקלאית ונחשב לדמות מרכזית בראשית הציונות בארץ.

המשכנו: יעקב צוואנגר היה מהנדס שנרצח בתל נוף בפרשה שטלטלה את היישוב הישן בשנת 1937. הנאשם העיקרי בסוף פרשת הרצח היה ראובן שיינצויט שהעסיק את צוואנגר כמהנדס. שמועות רבות נעו סביב מניע הרצח - שיינצויט הסתיר את מיזם הבנייה הכושל שלו וייתכן אף מרגל נאצי שהתגלה על ידי צוואנגר.

דוד שטרן היה אחיו הצעיר של יאיר שטרן, מייסד הלח״י. נולד בפולין, עלה ארצה ב‑1935 והצטרף לפלוגות בית"ר. מהנדס וקבלן מוביל, נשיא איגוד הקבלנים, חבר כנסת מטעם הליכוד בשנים 1979‑1981 ופעל רבות לקידום ההתיישבות, התעשייה והחינוך בישראל.
