@UKHSA has updated the Technical summary on
deaths in people with COVID-19. This metric now includes deaths in those with COVID-19 reinfections, measuring from the first specimen date of the most recent episode-well done EpiCell! @giulia_seghezzo@sadizid https://t.co/ro2R17H0hm

Gonorrhoea is the 2nd most common STI in England, with 1/2 diagnoses among MSM. Ceftriaxone and cefixime are last-line therapies for gonorrhoea and with 4 recent ceftriaxone resistant cases in the UK there is serious concern https://t.co/FJWqgTOJsk
Our paper looking at repeat gonorrhoea infection and gonococcal #AMR has been published in @STI_BMJ. We found that frequent STI screening could ⬆️ gonococcal AMR by ⬆️ asymptomatic STI detection and antibiotic use in the population. https://t.co/z5J77vf2Hm 🧵
In the UK, MSM are screened for HIV and STIs more frequently than heterosexual men and women, with recommendations for annual or quarterly screening according to risk. Further studies are needed to investigate the role of intensive screening on AMR.
