@AkumaMikoVT @eirianqueer Ableists avoiding treating people with communication barriers as complete humans who have capacity for reason (example 729,361)
@lesdeeianlover @GejowskiSeksA So then why say "I hate men" when it's really only a small subset of non-marginalized men that you want the actual hate to be directed at? Like is it actually the identity that drives the hate or is it the complicity in a patriarchal power structure? And if so, why single out men
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r Emotional investment (someone you care about, or yourself) being impacted in the immediate is what kickstarts the brain into caring about shit enough to overpower internalized patterns of thought. And even then that takes tiiiiime.
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r Nah because if people automatically cognitively processed the idea that at any point they could be negatively impacted by circumstance, ableism wouldn't be a thing.
Changing your opinion is an energy intensive process and we evolved to try to minimize unnecessary thinking.
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r It's definitely something you have to be raised to believe. This attitude that there's a norm that you must conform to, and thus enforcing that on others is part of maintaining that ideology. Foucault probably had something to say about this
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r A strong material interest in maintaining anti-queerphobic positions are what really drive someone's politics. If someone can develop a social network without needing to change from being a bigot, then often they won't bother.
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r The one thing I am missing is a reliable friend network but being lonely in and of itself never killed anyone. My vehement opposition to queerphobia comes from wanting to make friends with people who will enrich me spiritually and politically long term.
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r You can't just assume a gay person will have good takes on being gay just because they're gay. For many gay people, homophobia boils down to just twitter discourse and mean comments, not a threat to their survival, so ppl who oppose homophobia are just considered "too sensitive".
@RendrTheReal @fujomod3r Misogyny and queerphobia harm people in many different ways and a lot of white & affluent people are really protected from most of the more serious aspects of that harm like homelessness, untreated medical issues, sexual violence, and survival sex work.
@fujomod3r @Xian_Tzor @cunnymeisterHH LGBT people can't be legalized out of existence. These fascists are so focused on seeing dark-skinned people as a grey goo scenario they've no fucking clue of our own history.
@loopzoooop I don't even hesitate to block these people, I don't have time on this planet to give zionists and people who spread their propoganda the benefit of the doubt.
