@Metyikaa@doorkun6@Birdiche@RoyalCities Different? They’re literally responding to every claim he made, so they’re basically just one reply but y’know character limit and didn’t want to write all of it and send it as a screenshot :P
@Daytona_520@fidgepee Yay more slop unreliable software. Too bad they struggle with most tasks. I have yet to see something good made with AI that is not another CRUD app
@qcaggro@cammie9x Mf talking about 30 minutes to find a missing semicolon when both editors used for coding and most compiled languages literally report it and show you the exact location of the missing semicolon 😭
@cammie9x Science isn’t art, but it’s very important for discovering and learning new things about our world. Surgery isn’t art, but helps save people’s lives. A field’s worth isn’t determined by if it’s artistic or not, they all involve humans
@cammie9x Hell, the main skills of programming are critical thinking, problem solving skills, and architecture. All of which are things that makes us human
@TomasRogan79881@cammie9x Now honestly I am not gonna say code is a field of art, it isn’t. But something being a field of fine arts or not doesn’t mean it’s not for humans. Programming itself involves a lot of human made decisions
@TomasRogan79881@cammie9x That’s because code itself is simply the medium, not the product so your argument doesn’t hold unless you’re comparing it to another tool like a paintbrush. A paintbrush isn’t art, it’s simply the tool used by a painter
@Ender_mite78@doorkun6@Birdiche@RoyalCities Yeah dumbass thanks for proving my point, I was literally saying “if it works, it works” isn’t a valid metric and isn’t even the reality. Telling me to “quit larping as a cs enthusiast” while you posses zero reading comprehension skills is insane.
@doorkun6@Birdiche@RoyalCities Irrelevant. Whether you have more experience than me or not doesn’t contradict the original points being made. That’s just changing the topic. I also didn’t dispute if AI is fast at reverse engineering or not + fast at something doesn’t magically mean good.
@Mbyll139012@kensabrush if someone had an AI write them a piece of software or a game entirely, then the person who used the AI is simply just a meat proxy. The final product is not theirs and they didn’t even put the effort into making it. And no prompting isn’t considered effort :)
@Mbyll139012@kensabrush False equivalence. The digital artist still is the one who has to go through the process of drawing the final image. The software only provides them with the tools, and the artist still needs to actually have the skill.
