Happy New Year to all those that remember little old me from a while back! I know that any post I make is immediately met with questions about my channel and LCA, which is understandable, so I've decided to share a post I made in the LCA Discord server for those here on Twitter:
DOOM. The best video game in history reaches its 25th anniversary today. Here's to the legends who created the masterpiece, the fantastic modding community that keep this game very much alive, the friends and fans I gained from it, and the countless hours I've spent playing it.
Shotguns do not belong in video games. I cannot think of one game/one shotgun that was skillful but most importantly, FUN to use. It is a weapon put in games for the sole purpose of catering to cowards.
@EarthyHealthy I can't believe it's been almost that long already, but I intend to make up for it when I do come back! I hope to see you and many others there when the time comes :)
@EarthyHealthy Precisely! There's a lot of big things lined up for the return, I've got a bunch of plans for the future of the channel and games I want to play. All that's left is for that update to arrive, so I can bring a whole world of news and content to those few who still remember me :P
@EarthyHealthy At the moment my music mods are no longer public as I decided to completely remake them with higher quality music and better song choices. When I return to the channel, I'll be releasing the music mods again and uploading them somewhere permanently accessible.
I just beat the campaign for Doom Eternal on PS4. Overall a fantastic game with constant thrills, energetic battles and a strong focus on movement. It's good to know that the name of @DOOM remains a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry.
Today marks exactly four years since I played Complex Doom and LCA for the first time. I actually never could remember my first experience with the mods at all, but looking at the dates in my Doomseeker WAD folder paints a picture of the past. Here's to four legendary years!
Out of the 3 most notable composers of the Doom series, which one is your favorite?
Bobby Prince, Aubrey Hodges or Mick Gordon?
It's a tough one for me, but mine's probably Aubrey Hodges.
In preparation for my planned return to content later this year, I've bought the official red-top Expansion Pak to ensure the best reliability with my games. For comparison, here's what my one looks like next to the genuine product.
I've learned a bit more about the Nintendo 64's Expansion Pak, and discovered that I've been using a cheap third-party model all these years and throughout my childhood. This could explain why my Perfect Dark would tend to crash on a heavy Combat Simulator session after a while.
It is the first day of 2020, and I only JUST noticed that the sound effect used in Terminator 2 when Arnold is walking towards and shooting at the T-1000 in the Galleria hallway, is exactly the same as the PSX Doom shotgun. My love for both of these grows even stronger now.
