On Wednesday 29th July 2026 as part of his Summer Tour of his Constituency #Hexham #Northumberland @JoeMorrisMP held a public meeting at Trinity Church Hexham. The meeting was chaired by Hexham Mayor Derek Kennedy.

Joe stated he is against further North Sea oil drilling

What impact will devolution of powers to local mayors have on rural areas like Hexham?

Joe was Congratulated and thanked by an audience member on coming out to rural areas in his summer tour

The blight of three empty bank buildings in Hexham

Joe said he is proudest to have been involved in actively supporting and helping to introduce The Renters Rights Act and Employment Rights Bills since entering Parliament as Hexham MP.

Joe said he personally raised the heating oil cost in off grid communities with the then Chancellor as a result of a constituents raising it at one of his surgeries in Barrasford. This helped to result in positive change and support for those using off grid heating.

Joe was thanked by an audience member for his help in protecting local children in educational establishments and ensuring they are kept safe.

Joe was asked If theoretically you had a large amount of funding for Hexham where would you invest it?

The Lack of affordable housing in the constituency was raised.

The slow and unreliability of provision of public transport in the constituency in particular rural areas and the need to reopen Gilsland station

Ending rough sleeping - how will rough sleeping be dealt with in the constituency?

There was dismay by an audience member on the SEND orthodontics unit being closed. Joe was asked where can send young people go now for orthodontic services?

Joe Pledged to continue to work hard for constituents and constituency in parliament and urged local people to raise any issues they may have at his forthcoming summer surgeries as part of his summer tour of the constituency or with his office.

Joe thanked his staff for their hard work and dedication to solving the thousands of problems they have dealt with for local people since he was elected.

Everyone has a story. Your stories matter.

Keith Alessi was neither a performer nor a musician before taking to the stage. He was an accountant and corporate CEO! He now shares his unconventional true story of overcoming great obstacles including cancer and how the healing power of music brought him back home to himself.

The grassroots sound of the banjo lures you in and brings you back to a simpler time in life, as Keith takes you on the journey of his story. This show has been highly awarded and reviewed while touring internationally and has profoundly affected audiences everywhere. Themes of forgiveness and the importance of pursuing your passions resonate throughout. The variety of banjos that join him on stage are all characters and played important roles in his journey.

This is more than a show, it's a cause. Keith has never accepted any form of remuneration for his performances, instead choosing to donate it to local charities and to Theatres in support of Artist development. As of January 2026, the show has raised over $1.2 Million Dollars (CAD) for these causes.

After a sell-out show back in 2023, we’re delighted to welcome Keith Alessi back to Hexham for a special fundraising performance of his award-winning, inspirational true story. All proceeds will go towards supporting Queen’s Hall Arts and Core Music CIC.
