It’s truly remarkable how one day you’re holding a newborn, wondering how you’re going to pull this off, and the next you’re pretending to be leaves blowing in the wind and eating bananas on a park bench with your toddler.
Motherhood has completely changed my life. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever done. No matter what I accomplish in this world, being a mom will always be the most fulfilling, meaningful, and beautiful role I’ll ever have.
It’s so insane that people feel this way. I’m sorry, but I actually have to hold back about how amazing it is to be sharing things of my life with my child. Just yesterday he found rocks that I collected on a glacier 20 years ago and I’ve kept them all this time not knowing why. And when he found them he said “are these for me??” And I smiled so hard inside and just responded “yes, yes they have been the whole time.”
He got his first pair of skis and I put him between my legs as we went down a little slope on our land and I was so overcome with happiness, it’s hard to even describe. And I don’t care at all that I don’t “get in my runs” for the day.
Running alongside him as he learns to ride his bike… pure joy. Much more than riding my own bike.
It’s true that we still have individual pursuits as a human being, as all human beings do, but you think doing things with your kids makes that thing worse? I’m sorry, this is cope. What you may witness is some hardship and stress, but even 30 minutes in the pool with your kid teaching them to swim is worth the 1 hour it took to get there and every parent knows it.
Also, there is this whole modern worldview thing that is very new which tells people that the only things worth pursuing are the things that are easy and pleasurable 100% of the time and this is just not true, unless you never want to grow, learn, or do anything hard and meaningful.
Attacking the rights of a marginalised group isn’t a win for feminism.
Demanding that women be defined by our biology isn't a win for feminism.
The people driving this are not acting in the interests of women. They're taking us all backwards and ushering in the far right.
I have watched this so many times, I am so impressed with this woman. The KICK? The SHOES? And she just misses the drain without missing a beat. And the SONG CHOICE? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Standing ovation from me.
These narratives are so exhausting & exist to both justify inequalities whilst positioning the working-class as stupid, uncultured & undeserving.
So let’s take this example of ‘the seaside is free’ as an option for a family day out for a single mother of 3 kids from London.
I live Hartlepool. I live less then two miles from Murray Street where the mosque was attacked.
Hartlepool isn't known for its diversity. When I moved here four years ago it was actually one of the first things I noticed. In the last year we've had asylum seekers housed in
very cool that we’re debating whether elevated testosterone means you’re not a woman when almost 20% of all people with periods suffer from pcos. very normal thing supposed feminists are doing rn
This is completely false and I can't believe so many people with high profiles are peddling this myth
The victorious boxer Imane Khelif is a woman. She was born a woman and is not transgender. She's from Algeria where it's illegal to transition
This is bigotry, plain and simple
oh, we’re just gonna “play it by ear?” [starts sweating] we aren’t making a reservation? [gnawing at fingernails] oh, we don’t even have a restaurant picked out? or a general time? we’re just gonna “see what the vibe is” day of? [begins bashing head into wall] no, im chill :)
