At 2:55pm EDF promise to call me back. EDF never call back
Try to call back but EDF close at 6pm. Now 2 months after trying to get EDF to change their own meter over
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
Return to the meter to find that the key doesn’t work ‘error : d4’. Try lots of button pressing to no avail. Call EDF, 15 minutes to speak to somebody who says they are doing their best to solve the issue efficiently
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
In the mean time the credit on the meter has tumbled to £1.47 Take the ‘Digital key’ that EDF send to a local top up facility and add £20

Nothing, can’t tell me if it will be this month, year or decade, then they start to raise their voice because in their words ‘I don’t understand the process’
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
Eventually get to speak to somebody who tells me all previous advice about remote switch over is nonsense and there is no availability to change the meter…
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
Wait 14 days and call back, get cut off once, put through to a messaging service that says their department closes at 4pm
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
Another 3 calls to get through to EDF to be told they can’t see the new meter on ‘their system’ for 14 days after which its a simple ‘electronic’ process to remotely change the meter over to direct debit
@edfenergy@ofgem@itvnews@EmilyThornberry
The fitter turned up, found an issue with the meter caused by previous occupants and left notifying ‘revenue protection’ RP

Have been trying to get an EDF pre pay meter changed to an EDF direct debit meter after buying a property from Islington Council …
