UNICEF is the world’s leader in vaccine delivery. The cost of delivering and administering the required two doses of COVID-19 vaccines is about $4.81 per recipient. I have donated. Will you #GiveaVax?

Who benefits when governments cut funding to education and health? Rather, who isn’t affected? The wealthy. More cuts= income divide grows and grows. That’s not the kind of society most of in envision for our country. Tax the super wealthy. Fund education and healthcare properly!
Ultimately it is the rich who benefit most from tax cuts. Services for middle/low income are cut back, costing us more. Witness the drive to privatize healthcare by underfunding to push people to pay-for services. Taxes reduce the cost of services by eliminating the “profit”
Easy recipe.
Where there is economic loss there is fear.
Where there is fear there is anger.
Where there is fear and anger there is an opportunist.
Where there is an opportunist there is a group who will capitalize quickly and political leverage will always be a core target.
I just received a deposit invoice from a games room in Washington state for a party on Nov 19th. Guess what? It had Other Lisa’s phone number listed! I called. She did not answer. But I got her voice mail. She has a nice voice. I left her a nice message. Maybe she’ll get in touch
So, the ‘Lisa with a similar email address to me’ saga continues. She was getting her house value in NY assessed a couple months ago and now she is looking for a home in OR. Instead of sending herself the properties, she’s sending them to me.
One of the Other Lisas just signed up for Match. com so I changed the password and deactivated the account. Other Lisa is 53yo, 5’5” from Wellesley MA. Definitely not the same Lisa who went to Vegas several years ago. Probably not the one who is pregnant.
@DrSid_S @MattThiessenNT I’ve had two tabs for this book open for a while now. Should I just order from AmazonCanada or is it better for the author of I order from Baker?
As of today, two Dutch 🇳🇱 Waste Sharks 🦈 (Ranmarine) are out at the Toronto Waterfront to clean up plastics & algae. They also monitor water & air quality, so they are really smart sharks.
Let's hope they inspire us humans to clean up after ourselves.
My next book is *The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation.* It's a recipe to disenshittify the web and bring back the old good internet. The book is from @VersoBoooks, but the #audiobook is from me - because Amazon refuses to sell it:

@simcoecounty Waste Wizard doesn’t have an answer- Do essential oils, like frankincense, camphor, lavender, go to hazardous waste disposal or dump into green bin?
I was one of the graduates who had the honour of listening to @doctorow speak today. Wonderful, challenging & inspiring. My children were in the audience and my 10yo daughter told me that his speech was the best part of the very long ceremony. Thanks @YorkUniversity@YorkULAPS
Short thread about the announcement made by @Sflecce this morning.
Once upon a time, long ago, the Ministry of Education decided that they would invest in math coaches and later in literacy coaches. There was extra programming provided for schools that didn’t score as well on /2

Just wanted to point out that @FLOTUS and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau both wore white suits to the gala dinner, one presumes in solidarity with the women who @CPC_HQ insulted by refusing to stand in celebration of a gender balanced cabinet, and not a single news outlet noted that.
That’s a fail, imo.
This poem by Ben Jonson made me weep. I’ve never enjoyed studying poetry. But this poem reached across the centuries and reminded me of our shared humanity. “On My First Son” written in 1603.

@Scribulatora Those strawberries would cost about $30 in Jamaica. Raspberries- not even available. Bananas, which grow in the country, are over $3/lb in the grocery store! 2L of fresh milk costs $8 and tends to go bad very quickly. We are spoiled for food in most of this country.
If you were taught that "states' rights" caused a Civil War...
Or wondered why people shed white tears over monuments of mustachioed un-American traitors...
Or seen a Confederate flag at an insurrection
Well, you can thank one family of white supremacist nepo babies

I've asked myself and others how I can best make a positive difference in building the Ontario we truly want. Here's my statement explaining my decision. #onpoli
