I understand the need to hold the recording academy accountable, but some of you guys seem like you’ve genuinely got a prejudice against K-pop groups. BTS at their roots are still a K-pop group.
being multifandom is actually a struggle because there’s simply not enough room in a pfp, header, or bio for every piece of media that’s fundamentally shaped me as a person
@meryzepam HR is pushed by a mostly lady fan base and unlike a lot of recent queer media had pretty good advertising. Most of the sapphic shows of recent barely got a smidge of the advertising that HR did.
@meryzepam I thought the acting was actually pretty good. Not the best script imaginable, but it was pulled off nicely. Also, I think most people are under spells when it comes to the looks of men. It’s understandable to be frustrated that all spaces seem to glorify men.
@meryzepam Anyway, girls like girls written and directed by Hayley kiyoko in theaters now. Please support the sapphic stories you crave while you have the chance.
@meryzepam I’m honestly unsure if you even read/watched HR. The show is definitely better than the books, but it is odd that one of your major grievances is the look of the actors. Sounds like even if you got the queer stories you wanted there would still be a problem.
@meryzepam Follow up, cause I feel like this should be stated. Yes, HR is rather horny but it’s no more horny than your average streaming romance. It’s incredibly disingenuous that you degrade it based on that when it’s no different than the rest of the romance genre as a whole.
@meryzepam That’s genuinely the opposite of what op said? Like did you put on angry shutters over your reading lenses as soon as you saw the letters h and r together????
