On Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 9:58am, Sarnia Police officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in on London Road east of Murphy Road. Officers located a silver van with two males slumped over inside. After several attempts, they were eventually awakened to speak with police.
The driver identified himself as Samuel BARKER-ROGERS, whom police quickly ascertained had active arrest warrants out of North Bay and Peterborough. He was placed under arrest.
The passenger identified himself however, police were skeptical of the identity provided. Further investigation revealed that this was indeed a false name, and the true identity of the passenger was James BOYD. He was placed under arrested for obstructing police.
Observation of the vehicle interior revealed drug paraphernalia in plain view. Both occupants were (additionally) arrested for possession of illegal narcotics. Search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of drug trafficking paraphernalia, fentanyl (approx. 17 grams), and cash ($11,652 tied with hair bands).
At the time of these offences, both individuals were subject to probation orders.
Samuel BARKER-ROGERS, 36 years of no fixed address, and James BOYD, 42 years of no fixed address were held for bail on multiple charges.
