BREAKING: California Congresswoman Maxine Waters incinerates Donald Trump as “cruel” and “dishonorable” for his brutal crackdown in Los Angeles and warns that government guns could “end up being used” on protestors.
And she wasn’t done there…
“I don’t know why we have guns. What are those guns for? Are they to shoot protesters? I mean, there’s no reason to be here with the National Guard,” Waters said on CNN.
“The president of the United States is a cruel, dishonorable human being who would just as soon as shoot somebody down,” she added. “But I don’t want that to happen… I want the elected officials to do everything that we can to dissuade them.”
In a post on X, Waters explained her efforts against this fascist overreach by Trump—
“Today, I came to the Metropolitan Detention Center to exercise my constitutional rights as a Member of Congress to check on the safety and conditions of SEIU California President David Huerta, who was arrested by ICE. I pled with the National Guard, which was heavily armed, not to use their weapons against peaceful demonstrators who were simply exercising their rights to freedom of speech and protest,” she wrote.”
“All people deserve to be treated with dignity and due process under the law,” Waters continued.
“Peaceful, nonviolent demonstrations are critical to protecting our constitutional rights!”
In the video accompanying her words, she warned that the troops might have “orders to shoot and kill” because otherwise they wouldn’t need so much firepower. She ripped Trump for targeting the “poorest people in the land” to forward his political career.
The people of California need our support right now. Amplify the messages of the brave protestors and Democratic lawmakers putting themselves on the line for our democracy. If we fail to meet this moment the results will be disastrous for future generations.
Please retweet and ❤️ if you stand with California against Trump’s fascism!
The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor.
This is a day I hoped I would never see in America.
I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.
@problemsthots And female voters and black voters. The fact that he has openly attacked basically every minority and SIG and they still voted for him is just…unfathomable
now that Trump might become president again.
- Palestinians will no longer exist.
- Ukraine will be taken over by Russia (Russia will attempt to move further into Europe).
- We will be paying 3k more per year because of Trumps tarrifs.
- Our taxes will stay the same, but don’t worry because Elon Musk will see his taxes go down!
- Women will no longer have access to healthcare.
- Mass deportation of both illegal and legal immigrants (terrible for economy).
- 6 Trillions will be added to the debt compared to Harris who was only going to add 2 trillion.
anddddd the leader of our country is a sexual abuser, pedophile, rapist, racist, who tried to overthrow our government.
really good job guys 🫶
@aukonas I think there are muslim women who are being oppressed and forced into covering but there are muslim women who do it entirely because they want to and you really can't tell which is which by looking at them, at the end of the day it's their life, their religion, their business
@santanaxleigh I hate when people act like having any sort of reasonable reaction/response is "immature" and not acknowledging things is the only "mature" option
@jiggyjayy2 There are literal suit/trouser shorts that are specifically made to be worn for work. Shorts are not inherently unprofessional. I have to wonder if a skirt/dress of this same or similar length would also be discouraged??
@_celia_bedelia_ my white people tacos are seasoned grounds, onion, tortilla chips and ketchup in a lettuce wrap. like they're not even tacos anymore, they could not be whiter
@climatepaige I think sex work CAN be empowering. Of course there are people in sex work who may not feel empowered, but there are sex workers who do. I think it depends very much on the person and their story of how they got there
@ChaosPixieMagic aside from that, I genuinely did have a good time. I was home, spent all my time on my hobbies and was receiving more money than I had ever made. I thankfully didn't lose anyone, so I was able to just enjoy all the free time
@bo0kthot I fucking hate how people demand/expect kindness/respect/civility in response to meanness/disrespect/etc. like if you're kind to someone who is mean to you you are not better than someone else who was mean to someone who was mean to them.
