@grimsr3ap3r79 @ianmiles I get what you're saying but she's still right. I live in a very small, rural town and a 3 bed 2 bath rental in the bad part of town is a min of $2k not counting utilities. At minimum people need a place to live and food to eat. Right now both are insanely high.

San Francisco Supervisor Matt Dorsey proposed removing "sanctuary" protections for fentanyl dealers. Half the city's dealers are here illegally.

A poll showed 70% of SF voters support the proposal. Yet every Supervisor but Dorsey voted to keep protecting the dealers.

Now, six months later, we've learned the city is on pace for a record number of fentanyl deaths this year – with 385 as of the end of July.

The State Legislature has been similarly reckless. Last year, a Sacramento man was released from jail in spite of an ICE detainer because of the Sanctuary State law. Days later, he murdered his own three daughters.

I was in the Legislature at the time. In the aftermath of the tragedy, I introduced a bill to repeal the Sanctuary State. The "Public Safety Committee" killed it.

Congress has a responsibility to stop these rogue jurisdictions from threatening public safety. That's why I've introduced the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act to end sanctuary policies nationwide.

The Chinese bioengineering lab operating secretly in California was kept from the public for nine months after its discovery.

We need answers as to why the Newsom Administration offered $360,000 in funding to the company and told local officials to stay quiet after they discovered the lab.

An official with Fresno County Public Health said: “As we're communicating with state and federal agencies, they’re making it very clear, we cannot speak on this."

The local city manager said the Chinese-owned company was "kicked out of Canada, got kicked out of Texas, and came to California."

Health officials say they've never seen anything like the lab. Nearly 1,000 mice "genetically engineered to catch and carry the COVID-19 virus" were found, along with E. coli, malaria, and other agents.

I am calling for an investigation by the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.

Revelations about the secret Chinese-run lab in Fresno keep getting more disturbing. I am joining the Speaker's call for an investigation by the Select Committee on China. Here's what we know:

-The lab was run by Prestige Biotech Inc, whose owners live in China.

-The Newsom Administration awarded the company a $360,000 tax credit in 2019.

-The lab was operating without a license and was committing numerous code violations.

-Mice at the lab were "genetically engineered to catch and carry" COVID and other diseases." Toxic chemicals, vials of blood, and other materials were also discovered.

-Fresno's city manger said: "They were bad actors. They never came to the city and they moved in in the middle of the night. Those are pretty big elements that tell us they did not want us to know they were here."

-The CDC told the Associated Press it "has taken no further action in this matter.”
