Before-and-after photos of Palestinian journalist Mujahid Bani Mufleh following his release from Israeli detention.
The 36-year-old father of three was held for eight months without charge or trial under Israel’s administrative detention system. Just days after his release, he suffered a severe brain haemorrhage, which his family says was caused by prison conditions and medical neglect.
Sharing the images, Bani Mufleh described the humiliation and suffering he endured in detention. He wrote: “I learned humiliation when every part of your day is controlled by someone else… When even your privacy and dignity are no longer yours."
A 14-year-old Muslim girl was dragged off a bus and punched in the chest on her way home from school.
Her friend was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious.
Her other friend was thrown into a road with moving cars.
The woman called her a "f***ing fat N*****" before dragging her off by force.
Three schoolgirls. A public bus. Broad daylight.
In Birmingham, men grabbed a woman from behind, dragged her down and ripped off her hijab near Gravelly Hill station. Her father had to intervene. Police released CCTV.
On 19 June in Edinburgh, five Muslim men were attacked with a machete. Two had just left prayers. The attacker shouted about "Muslim bastards" as he was arrested. Ten terrorism charges.
On 24 June in Newham, a mosque was targeted with racial abuse. The Newham Muslim Forum said political inaction has normalised it.
These aren't isolated. They're accelerating.
The Islamophobia Response Unit recorded a 377% rise in cases between 2023 and 2024. 906 investigated.
The Muslim Women's Network UK surveyed Muslim women around the 2024 riots. Before, 17% were very worried for their safety. After, 74%.
In January, Parliament published its first ever inquiry into gendered Islamophobia.
1 in 5 Muslim women experienced a hate incident in the last year.
80% never reported it.
Hate targeting Muslim women is more likely to carry sexual aggression than hate targeting men.
The finding: they are targeted because they are visible.
In May, the government responded.
It refused the word Islamophobia.
The women being attacked asked for it to be named. The government took the name away.
After Edinburgh, the outgoing Prime Minister said the attack "appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred." The Home Secretary said "appears."
Ten terrorism charges had already been laid.
This morning, GB News published: "The police keep caving in to Muslims."
The same morning, the head of the National Secular Society attacked The Guardian for using the word Islamophobia at all.
You can criticise the religion, they say. Just not the people.
Tonight, Katie Hopkins takes a stage in Leicester.
The APPG definition has existed since 2018. 800 organisations backed it. The government chose a weaker word instead.
The word they chose is the one that lets all of this carry on.
Schoolgirls dragged off buses.
Men stabbed outside mosques.
A mosque abused in Newham.
Shops called criminal enterprises on national television.
A stage booked in Leicester.
And these things just keep happening to us.
It appears. It seems. It looks like.
We don't even get to name the thing that is being done to us.
Every silence is permission.
Every omission is a green light.
Every word they refuse is cover for the next attack.
A stage booked in a city that deserves better.
And every Muslim in the UK asking why don’t they care about us?

Across the rich western world, birth rates have collapsed below replacement.
The political class has an answer ready, and it points outward.
The foreigner is taking your country, your jobs, your future.
When the reality is that the system failed the population to the extent that procreation unaffordable, unsustainable and outright undesirable.
The system is sterilizing the Wests future.
Housing was financialised into an asset class, so a home became a speculative instrument instead of a place to raise a family.
Wages decoupled from productivity for two generations, so a single income no longer builds a household.
Childcare, education and healthcare were turned into debt-loaded markets that price young couples out of a second child, then a first.
None of this was done by migrants.
It was done by capital optimising for yield, and by governments that protected asset prices over family formation.
The result is a population that cannot reproduce itself because reproduction has been made economically irrational.
The genius of blaming the outsider is that it sends anger sideways and downward, never upward.
A worker furious at the immigrant next to him is a worker not asking why his rent doubled while his pay stalled. The demographic panic is not a defence of the nation. It is a narrative that shields the exact interests that hollowed it out.
As long as the foreigner is the story, the financialization of housing and the suppression of wages continue completely unexamined, which deepens the precarity that suppresses birth rates in the first place.
And this newfound racism only guarantees the collapse it claims to prevent.
An ageing society has only two demographic inputs. It can produce more children or it can import more workers.
Nativism attacks the second lever while doing absolutely nothing to repair the first.
It removes the one input still functioning and offers nothing in its place.
The maths is merciless. Fewer workers must support more retirees, pension and health systems strain, the tax base shrinks, and the economy that was supposed to be saved by exclusion instead starves.
The same societies that demonize migrants are the ones whose labour markets, care sectors and innovation pipelines now depend on them.
So you build a country that needs the outsider to function and hates the outsider on principle,
a contradiction that cannot hold.
When it breaks, the state does not turn outward.
It turns inward.
Surveillance expands, austerity bites, and the machinery of control built for the border gets pointed at citizens.
The decline gets repackaged as renewal, and the people sold the lie keep voting for the thing that is eating them.
Understand that this racism framing is the trap, not the truth. It is an identity construct that keeps the exploited fighting each other while the structure that drained them stays invisible.
The honest question was never how to keep others out.
It was why a wealthy civilisation made it impossible for its own people to afford the future.
That’s the real question.
The ones screaming about demographic doom are not protecting anyone.
They are guarding the machine that caused it, and the louder the scapegoating gets, the faster the whole thing comes apart.
@ReactionaryLuma Ngl I don't see the connection with Islam.
Rather I see the Covenant as the Roman empire of which its leaders used religion to keep the people in check and the Great Schism being the split between chatolic and protestant.
Also the human covenant war sounds like a crusade.
@ResEvilDude Pretty sure important points are made naturally snowy because they would be natural points of retreat during an outbreak. Just like at the ark, the control room was snowy before the flood showed up.
If it was flood outbreak = snow then the 343 GS swamp should be snowy too.
@EzzellVFX@neoteaika My take was to make the metal more rough by having a dirt/wear layer. More sand/oxidization in beachy areas. Or a snow layer on snowy areas (like they do in AotCR)
Fun World Cup Fact:
The @guardian story, later amplified by @Reuters, that 6,500 migrant workers died building Qatar’s World Cup stadiums was bogus.
The 6,500 figure was actually the TOTAL number of people from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka who died in Qatar from 2011-2020, regardless of occupation or cause of death.
That’s 650 deaths per year across nearly 2 million expats from those five nationalities: a yearly mortality rate of just 0.0325% from ALL causes. The yearly mortality rate for QATARIS was actually higher at 0.0571%.
The real number of deaths among workers involved in stadium construction was 40. Of those, 37 were non-work-related. Only 3 were construction accidents.
For comparison: Brazil had 8 World Cup construction deaths. Russia had 21.
So how did Qatar maintain such a low fatality rate despite building far more infrastructure?
By implementing some of the strictest worker safety measures ever seen at a World Cup, including mandatory StayQool cooling suits with patented heat-management technology that may eventually become standard for construction workers worldwide.
Instead of having any kind of humility and learning from these developments, they chose racism and straight up lying.
Israel yesterday kidnapped four women. Two are footballers in the Palestinian National Team.
Their names are: Natali Abu Dia and Rand Halwani.
Is it normal to kidnap footballers, @FIFAcom? Where are sports media organisations? This story should be the headline everywhere.
