Balancing tightrope of hypocrisy: hate social media but tweet; love & hate pop culture in equal measure; love art & politics, convinced my opinion matters.
Don't care that my thread about Lily Shaw wasn't numbered and therefore appears out of order b/c honestly I just needed to sorta talk about her. Also b/c I'm fucking sad and don't care.
Our deepest condolences to the family, friends & classmates of Lily Shaw, @lily_thoughts_, a @humefoggknights 2016 graduate, who has passed away.
Lily was the inspiration for Lily's Garden at Dragon Park. She made a lot of difference in the communities where she lived.
The HF family is both grieving the loss and celebrating the life of alum, Lily Shaw. She was a fierce advocate for the marginalized with a focus on disability rights. May she rest in peace and love. May we through her example continue to fight the good fight...
Celebrating Lily Shaw, who died Wed morning.
The love of @THEChadLittle's life.
At Lily’s Garden, the first handicapped-accessible park in Tennessee which was built in 2000 with $1,000,000 raised by Lily’s mom. Lilly was born w/ Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Fan of @taylorswift13
Btw, fuck you, #SpinalMuscularAtrophy. Really, really, really fuck you. I was robbed. We all were. Rest in peace, Lily. Be good to yourselves, everybody else. Much much love. - Clare
There's a particular feeling that only happens a few times in life, if you're lucky. You wake up and feel kinda okay & then boom, you come to consciousness and realize something really horrible has happened and you'd simply forgotten, in your sleep.
A friend reminded me that JUST LAST WEEK I said, mark my words, Lily Katherine Shaw is going to be a public intellectual who writes for The New Yorker or something equally fabulous by the time she's 33. She was going to be, too. Trust me.
