Got a call this morning that some friends had finished their work early and were asking to help out in the MC. Eleven kids spent twenty minutes organizing the books and fixing seating. All volunteers, all happy to help. That’s #TheMaverickKind. 💙🐮💙

Multi-step equations got infused with a whole lot of fun today! Platt’s classes reviewed inverse operations and balancing equations while breaking out of some seriously tough puzzles.

Our Mavericks Mic’d Up poetry slam was incredible! We were deeply impressed by students’ transparency and skill sharing their own works & favorites by other authors. 🤩

We finally feel comfortable calling it “first annual” now. 😅 Thanks to everyone who came!

April was fantastic! (And not just because we 💙 spring break.) We celebrated National Poetry Month and School Library Month; we hosted our first-ever amazing poetry slam; we watched elementary BOB teams battle; and we partnered with teachers on great lessons!

So many good things happened in the month of March! We didn't have space to mention all the club meetings and special events that met in the MC, and our checkout numbers were the 2nd-highest this year. 💪 Let's start getting those books turned in before the rush to summer begins!

We're almost tied with last year's checkouts as of today! February was a slower month for us - lots of nonfiction projects and character trial prep. Still, we are excited that students are checking out LOTS of books and coming in to explore the MC! @hickoryridgemid

Compared our checkout stats to last year knowing we now have 200 fewer students...and that would DEFINITELY make our checkouts drop.

Checkouts are at almost the same levels they were in January 2022! You Mavericks are AMAZING!!
