I was only 22 when the pandemic hit… just a year and a half into my nursing journey. I had no ward experience, yet there I was, caring for COVID and intubated patients, far from the familiarity of the operating room.

I wasn’t even confident calling myself an OR nurse then; I was still learning, still finding my footing. Everything felt overwhelming, but there was no choice but to step up. Looking back, I realize how much that time shaped me. Not just as a nurse, but as a person.
